Imports of computers, electronics, and components increased in first quarter of 2026

AsemconnectVietnam - According to the preliminary statistics figures from the Customs Department, imports of computers, electronics, and components into Vietnam in March of 2026 increased by 35.49% compared to February of 2026 and by 53.84% compared to March of 2025, reaching US$17.67 billion.
Overall, in the first quarter of 2026, the country’s imports of computers, electronics, and components reached nearly US$47.57 billion, a sharp increase of 50.35% compared to the first quarter of 2025.
The largest import market of computers, electronics, and components was China, accounting for 35.25% of the total import value of this product group nationwide, reaching nearly US$16.77 billion, a sharp increase of 61.86% compared to the first quarter of 2025. In March of 2026 alone, the imports of this group of items reached US$6.49 billion, an increase of 50.66% compared to February of 2026 and 62.13% compared to March of 2025.
The second largest market was South Korea, accounting for 26.75% of the total, reaching over US$12.72 billion, an increase of 48.58% compared to the same period in 2025. In March of 2026 alone, the imports from this market reached US$4.7 billion, an increase of 21.44% compared to February of 2026 and 52.85% compared to March of 2025.
The next was the Taiwanese market, with the imports in March of 2026 increasing by 42.74% compared to February of 2026 and 78.85% compared to March of 2025, reaching US$2.89 billion. Overall, in the first quarter of 2026, the imports from this market increased by 68.75% compared to the first quarter of 2025, reaching US$7.7 billion, accounting for 16.19% of the total import value of this product group nationwide.
In general, in the first quarter of 2026, the country’s imports of computers, electronics, and components from most markets increased in value compared to the same period of 2025.
