Wood and wood product export markets in first quarter of 2026

AsemconnectVietnam - In the first quarter of 2026, the exports of wood and wood products reached nearly US$3.99 billion, an increase of 1.4% compared to the first quarter of 2025.
According to the preliminary statistics figures from the Customs Department, Vietnam's exports of wood and wood products in March of 2026 reached over US$1.39 billion, an increase of 43.79% compared to February of 2026 but a decrease of 5.41% compared to March of 2025.
Overall, in the first quarter of 2026, exports of this product group reached nearly US$3.99 billion, an increase of 1.4% compared to the first quarter of 2025.
Vietnam's wood and wood products exports were largely destined for the US market, accounting for 49.09% of the country's total export value for this product group, reaching nearly US$1.96 billion, a decrease of 8.28% compared to the first quarter of 2025. In March of 2026 alone, the exports to the US market reached US$697.55 million, an increase of 54.25% compared to February of 2026 but a decrease of 16.31% compared to March of 2025.
The second largest market in terms of export value was China, reaching US$607.82 million, accounting for 15.24%, a strong increase of 47.01%. In March of 2026 alone, the exports to this market reached nearly US$215.98 million, an increase of 33.16% compared to February of 2026 and a 43.61% increase compared to March of 2025.
The other markets with high export values were Japan with US$539.64 million, accounting for 13.53%, an increase of 5.61%; South Korea with US$148.33 million, accounting for 3.72%, a decrease of 20.53%.
The exports of wood and wood products to the EU market reached US$217.67 million, accounting for 5.46%, an increase of 47.62%; the exports to the Southeast Asian market reached US$88.19 million, accounting for 2.21%, an increase of 3.65%.
The exports of wood and wood products to the RCEP market in the first quarter of 2026 reached US$1.43 billion, accounting for 35.75%, an increase of 15.72%. The exports to the CPTTP market reached US$792.3 million, accounting for 19.86%, an increase of 6.98%.
Overall, in the first quarter of 2026, the exports of wood and wood products to most markets increased in value compared to the first quarter of 2025.
