AsemconnectVietnam - In the first three months of 2026, fertilizer exports reached 810,477 tonnes, valued at US$360.16 million, an increase of 34.89% in volume and 59.8% in value compared to the first three months of 2025.
Meanwhile, in the first three months of 2026, fertilizer imports reached 914,422 tonnes, valued at over US$303.25 million, a decrease of 32.24% in volume and 29.52% in value compared to the first three months of 2025.
Vietnam's fertilizer exports in March and the first quarter of 2026
According to the preliminary data from the Customs Department, in March of 2026, Vietnam exported 358,956 tonnes of fertilizer, valued at US$172.6 million, with an average price of 480.85 USD/tonne, a sharp increase of 82.47% in volume, 102.04% in value, and 10.72% in price compared to February of 2026; compared to March of 2025, it also increased by 34.6% in volume, 89.84% in value, and 41.04% in price.
Overall, in the first three months of 2026, fertilizer exports reached 810,477 tonnes, valued at US$360.16 million, with an average price of US$444.38/tonne, an increase of 34.89% in volume, 59.8% in value, and 18.47% in price compared to the first three months of 2025.
Leading fertilizer export markets in March and the first quarter of 2026
Vietnam's fertilizer exports to Cambodia accounted for 18.56% of the volume and 17.22% of the value of the country's total fertilizer exports, reaching 150,425 tonnes, valued at over US$62 million, with an average price of US$412.18/tonne, an increase of 6.22% in volume, 43.65% in value, and 35.24% in price compared to the first three months of the year 2025.
The second largest market was the Philippines, with 56,521 tonnes, valued at US$27.5 million, with an average price of US$486.59/tonne; an increase of 111.1% in volume, 149.5% in value, and 18.19% in price, accounting for 6.97% of the total volume and 7.64% of the total value. The next was the Malaysian market, with 41,842 tonnes, valued at US$21.05 million, with an average price of US$502.97/tonne; a decrease of 7.3% in volume, but an increase of 17.57% in value and 26.84% in price, accounting for 5.16% of the total volume and 5.84% of the total value.
Overall, fertilizer exports to most markets in the first three months of 2026 increased in both volume and value compared to the same period of 2025.

According to the preliminary data from the Customs Department, in March of 2026, Vietnam imported 455,823 tonnes of fertilizer, worth of US$147.67 million, with an average price of US$323.97/tonne, an increase of 111.86% in volume, an increase of 82.46% in value, but a decrease of 13.88% in price compared to January of 2026. In comparison to March of 2025, there was a decrease of 5.79% in volume, but an increase of 2.44% in value and an increase of 8.74% in price.
Overall, in the first three months of 2026, fertilizer imports reached 914,422 tonnes, valued at over US$303.25 million, with an average price of US$331.63/tonne, a decrease of 32.24% in volume and 29.52% in value, but an increase of 4.01% in price compared to the first three months of 2025.
Leading fertilizer import markets in March and the first quarter of 2026
The largest source of fertilizer imports into Vietnam was China, accounting for 52.63% of the volume and 47.18% of the value of the country's total fertilizer imports, reaching 481,244 tonnes, valued at US$143.07 million, with an average price of US$297.3/tonne, a decrease of 17.26% in volume, a decrease of 1.21% in value, but an increase of 19.39% in price compared to the first three months of 2025.
The second largest market was Russia, accounting for 6.07% of the volume and 12.62% of the value, reaching 55,529 tonnes, worth of $38.28 million, with an average price of $689.31/tonne, a sharp decrease of 60.94% in volume and 53.7% in value, but an increase of 18.54% in price;
The next was the Laos, accounting for 8.34% of the volume and 8.69% of the value, reaching 76,227 tonnes, worth of $26.34 million, with an average price of $345.53/tonne; a decrease of 24.82% in volume, a decrease of 0.42% in value, but an increase of 32.45% in price.
Overall, fertilizer imports from most markets in the first three months of 2026 decreased compared to the same period of 2025.
