AsemconnectVietnam - Of the total, domestically assembled completely-knocked-down (CKD) vehicles numbered 1,800 units while completely built-up (CBU) imports dominated with 6,343 units, signalling a clear rebound in the auto market after a period of subdued demand.

Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) reported 8,143 vehicles sold in March 2026, marking a twofold increase from the previous month, driven largely by strong momentum in hybrid models, the company announced on April 2.

Including Lexus, the joint venture’s total sales across the Vietnamese market reached 8,293 units during the month, TMV said.
Of the total, domestically assembled completely-knocked-down (CKD) vehicles numbered 1,800 units while completely built-up (CBU) imports dominated with 6,343 units, signalling a clear rebound in the auto market after a period of subdued demand.
Hybrid vehicles, powered by both petrol and electric systems, stood out as the main growth driver, with sales climbing to 2,193 units, triple the figure recorded a month earlier. The surge reflects rising consumer preference for fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly options amid fluctuating fuel costs. Besides, hybrids also offer convenience by avoiding the infrastructure requirements associated with fully electric cars, it noted.
Yaris Cross was Toyota’s top-selling model in March, delivering 2,378 units and maintaining strong appeal in the urban SUV segment. Innova Cross ranked second with 1,576 units while other core models such as Vios, Corolla Cross and Veloz Cross also made significant contributions, underscoring a growing market shift toward SUVs and multi-purpose vehicles suited to both individual and family use.
In the premium segment, Lexus posted sales of 150 vehicles in March, raising its cumulative deliveries in Vietnam to 16,466 units since entering the market.
The robust March performance further consolidates Toyota Vietnam’s standing among the country’s leading automotive brands and highlights the success of its product diversification strategy, particularly the accelerated rollout of hybrid vehicles aligned with the broader transition toward greener mobility, it added./.
