Imports of animal feed in 2 months of 2026

AsemconnectVietnam - In the first two months of 2026, Vietnam’s imports of animal feed reached over US$633 million, a decrease of 21.22% compared to the first two months of 2025.
According to the preliminary statistics figures from the Customs Department, imports of animal feed in February of 2026 decreased by 33.56% compared to January of 2026 and decreased by 48.28% compared to February of 2025, reaching nearly US$258.17 million. Overall, in the first two months of 2026, the imports of this product group reached over $633 million, a decrease of 21.22% compared to the first two months of 2025.
Animal feed imports were highest from the US market in the first two months of 2026, accounting for 26.5% of the total import value of this product group nationwide, reaching over $167.47 million, a sharp increase of 48.79% compared to the first two months of 2025. In particular, the figure of February of 2026 alone reached over $71.57 million, a decrease of 25.4% compared to January of 2026 but an increase of 17% compared to February of 2025.
Ranked second in terms of import value was Argentina, accounting for 21.7%, reaching over $137.6 million, a sharp decrease of 62.3% compared to the same period in 2024. In February of 2026 alone, the imports from this market reached US$51.43 million, a decrease of 40.3% compared to January of 2026 and a decrease of 78.9% compared to February of 2025.
The imports from China in February of 2026 decreased sharply by 34.6% compared to January of 2026 but increased by 23.3% compared to February of 2025, reaching US$24.63 million; combined, imports from this market in the first two months of 2026 increased by 32.8% compared to the first two months of 2025, reaching US$62.32 million, accounting for 9.8% of the total import value of this product group nationwide.
Notably, some markets, despite having small export values, showed strong growth compared to the same period in 2025, such as Mexico (up by 318.2%, reaching $1.1 million), Italy (up by 245.4%, reaching $2.34 million), and Canada (up by 158.7%, reaching $10.8 million).
