Exports to Malaysia increased in 2 months of 2026

AsemconnectVietnam - According to data from the Vietnam Customs Department, in the first two months of 2026, Vietnam exported goods to Malaysia worth of US$952.1 million, an increase of 26.6% compared to the previous year.

Vietnamese goods exported to Malaysia included machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts; computers, electronic products and components; telephones and components; and various types of iron and steel.
The leading export category in the first two months of 2026 was computers, electronic products and components, reaching US$114.6 million, an increase of 7%, accounting for 12% of the total. This was followed by machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts, reaching US$97 million, an increase of 39.4%, accounting for 10.1% of the total.
Several product categories saw year-on-year export growth, such as transportation vehicles and parts increased by 164.3%; fruits and vegetables by 97.2%; and other base metals and products by 102.2%.
According to experts, Malaysia continued to be an important trading partner in the ASEAN region. The growth signals in electronics, agricultural products, and transportation vehicles indicate that the export capacity and competitiveness of Vietnamese businesses are improving, effectively utilizing free trade agreements such as CPTPP and RCEP.
