Exports to China increased sharply in 2 months of 2026

AsemconnectVietnam - According to statistics from the Customs Department, Vietnam's merchandise exports to the Chinese market in the first two months of 2026 reached over US$11.02 billion, an increase of 39.9% compared to the same period last year.
In February of 2026 alone, Vietnam's merchandise exports to China reached US$4.7 billion, a decrease of 25.5% compared to February of 2025.
Leading the export value in the first two months of 2026 was the group of computer products, electronic products and components, reaching US$2.9 billion, an increase of 38.1% compared to the same period last year, accounting for 26.5% of total exports; followed by the group of telephones and components, reaching US$2.34 billion, an increase of 61.2%, accounting for 21.2% of total exports. The next was the group of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts, reaching US$841.9 million, an increase of 78.4% compared to the same period last year, accounting for 7.6% of total exports.
Several groups of goods saw export turnover growth in the first two months of 2026 compared to the same period last year, such as fruits and vegetables (up by 75.9%); seafood (up by 58.2%); rice (up by 145.4%); coffee (up by 103.7%); toys, sports equipment and parts (up by 90.7%).
China is identified as a key export market for Vietnam's agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products. In addition to strong products such as fruits and vegetables and seafood, businesses are focusing on increasing market share in products with high potential such as rubber, pepper, and cassava.
