AsemconnectVietnam - According to statistics from the Customs Department, Vietnam's exports to France in the first two months of 2026 reached US$702.1 million, an increase of 11.6% compared to the same period last year.
In recent years, France has consistently been one of Vietnam's leading trading partners within the EU.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnamese goods exported to France are relatively diverse and abundant, including: footwear; textiles; household goods; agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products; gemstones and jewelry; electrical and electronic goods; mechanical tools; various types of ceramics; rubber; coal; toys, sports and recreational products; plastic products; and rattan and bamboo products.
To boost exports to France, improving the quality of exported products to meet EU standards is absolutely essential. Exported products from Vietnam must strictly comply with EU regulations on food safety, quality management, and environmental protection. This not only helps increase the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods in the French market but also contributes to building the national brand and image internationally.
Telephones and components were the largest export items to the French market in the first two months of 2026, reaching US$156.8 million, an increase of 27.1% compared to the same period last year, accounting for 22.3% of total exports. This was followed by footwear, reaching US$111.4 million, an increase of 11.6% compared to the same period last year, accounting for 15.8% of total exports.
In 2025, several export items to France saw year-on-year increases in export value, such as computers, electronic products and components increased by 62.6%; transportation equipment and parts increased by 57.5%; coffee increased by 81.1%; fruits and vegetables increased by 37.6%; and electrical wires and cables increased by 30.2%.
