Cinnamon exports increased in first 2 months
Thursday, March 12,2026
AsemconnectVietnam - After a period of market volatility, Vietnam's cinnamon exports showed positive signs from the beginning of 2026. Both volume and value increased compared to the same period last year, indicating that global demand for spices continues to remain stable.
According to preliminary statistics from the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), in February of 2026, Vietnam exported nearly 5,700 tonnes of cinnamon, achieving a value of approximately US$15 million. Compared to the previous month, export volume decreased by 35.7%, but still increased by 11% compared to the same period last year, reflecting continued positive import demand from many markets.
Regarding the business structure, Prosi Thăng Long continued lead in February of 2026 with 803 tonnes of cinnamon exported. It was followed by Sơn Hà Spices with 518 tons and Senspices Vietnam with 379 tonnes. All businesses got stable customer bases in many major markets, contributing to maintaining the export momentum of Vietnam's spice industry.
Overall, in the first two months, Vietnam exported 14,564 tonnes of cinnamon, with a total value of US$37.4 million. Compared to the same period of 2025, export volume increased by 16.8%, while value increased by 10%, showing that the market still maintains a fairly high growth rate despite many unpredictable factors in global trade.
At the enterprise level, Prosi Thăng Long continued to lead with 1,672 tonnes, accounting for 11.5% of total exports, although down 4.3% compared to the same period last year. The exports of Sơn Hà Spices reached 1,420 tonnes, accounting for 9.8%, a strong increase of 49.6% compared to the same period. Following closely behind were Rừng Xanh T & K with 959 tonnes, Olam Vietnam with 691 tonnes, and Huy Chúc M & M with 624 tonnes.
Regarding consumption markets, India and the United States continued to be the two largest export destinations for Vietnamese cinnamon. The exports to India reached 5,144 tonnes, accounting for 35.3% of total exports; while the United States accounted for 2,495 tonnes, equivalent to 17.1%. The stable demand from key markets is contributing to the momentum of Vietnam's cinnamon industry maintaining its growth from the early months of the year.
