Exports to Indonesia showed growth in January of 2026

AsemconnectVietnam - According to the statistics figures from the Vietnam Customs Department, Vietnam's exports to the Indonesian market in January of 2026 reached over US$489.5 million, an increase of 11.9% compared to the same period last year.
Vietnamese goods exported to Indonesia include rice, seafood, coffee, chemical products, raw plastics, various types of footwear, textile and leather materials, and various types of iron and steel, etc. Among these, textiles led in export value to the Indonesian market in January of 2026, reaching US$49.2 million, an increase of 35.5%, accounting for 10% of total exports. This was followed by textile and leather materials, reaching US$47 million, an increase of 36.9%, accounting for 9.6% of total exports.
Vietnamese goods are gradually asserting their position in the Indonesian market, with export value increasing over time.
In 2025, several product categories saw year-on-year export growthm, such as chemical products increased by 108.7%; rubber by 78.1%; and animal feed and raw materials by 116.8%.
According to the Vietnamese Trade Office in Indonesia, participating in major trade events provides domestic businesses with more opportunities to access the market and expand their network of partners, customers, and distributors in Indonesia.
Furthermore, the image and brand of Vietnamese products are more effectively introduced and promoted to various customer groups.
Indonesia has become a key and highly potential market in Asia in particular and the world in general. Indonesian people have a very high consumption rate of goods and products, especially Halal products – a market with many opportunities to increase export revenue.
