Main items imported from India in 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to the statistics figures from the Customs Department, the bilateral trade between Vietnam and India in 2025 reached over US$16.46 billion, an increase of 10.54% compared to 2024.
Of which, goods imported from India into Vietnam reached over US$6.11 billion in 2025, an increase of 4.86% compared to 2024.
In December of 2025 alone, the import turnover increased by 28.39% compared to November of 2025, reaching over US$697.56 million, but increased by 29.4% compared to December of 2024.
Conversely, the exports to India were estimated to reach over US$10.35 billion in 2025, a 14.19% increase compared to 2024. Thus, Vietnam's trade surplus with India in 2025 was expected to reach nearly US$4.24 billion, a 31.23% increase compared to 2024.
The largest import category from India in 2025 was base metals, exceeding US$819.5 million, accounting for 13.41% of total imports from this market, a sharp increase of 89.1% compared to 2024.
Seafood imports from India were the second largest category in terms of value, reaching US$524.22 million, accounting for 8.6% of total imports, an increase of 83.9%.
The next was machinery, equipment, tools, and spare parts reached nearly 497.71 million USD, accounting for 8.1%, a decrease of 7.8%; automotive components and spare parts reached 354.1 million USD, accounting for 5.8% of the total turnover, a decrease of 16.4%.
