Sao Ta (FMC): Revenue decreases 21% in January 2026
Wednesday, February 25,2026
AsemconnectVietnam - Sao Ta Food Joint Stock Company (FMC) announced its consolidated business results for January 2026, with revenue reaching US$20.4 million, a 21% decrease compared to the same period last year.
During the month, Sao Ta's finished shrimp production reached 1,415 tons, a 4% decrease compared to the same period last year. Finished agricultural products reached 43 tons, a 5% decrease compared to the same period.
Regarding consumption, finished shrimp consumption reached 1,863 tons, a 19% decrease compared to January 2025. Conversely, finished agricultural product consumption reached 129 tons, a 146% increase.
Overall, FMC's consolidated revenue in January 2026 reached US$20.4 million, a 21% decrease compared to the same period last year.
Regarding shrimp farming operations, FMC stated that the old farming area is expected to complete stocking before the Lunar New Year, while the new farming area will continue stocking after the Lunar New Year.
Previously, the company announced its Q4/2025 business results with revenue reaching VND1,555.5 billion, a 14% increase compared to the same period last year, but after-tax profit decreased by 11.6%, to VND165.52 billion.
The company stated that the consolidated profit results were significantly impacted by its subsidiary, Khang An Food, whose profits declined sharply due to high input material prices. This resulted in the export orders in Q4/2025 not meeting expectations, thus reducing the consolidated after-tax profit of the entire system.
Cumulatively in 2025, Sao Ta Foods recorded revenue of VND8,185.3 billion, an increase of 18.4% compared to the same period, and after-tax profit of VND416.74 billion, a slight decrease of 1.4% compared to the previous year.
In 2025, FMC set a business plan with total revenue of VND6,540 billion and expected pre-tax profit of VND420 billion. Thus, with pre-tax profit reaching VND411.38 billion, Sao Ta has achieved approximately 98% of its profit target for the year.
