Vietnam coffee prices slid over the week on global losses on Feb 9

AsemconnectVietnam - According to Kinhtedothi, Vietnam’s domestic coffee prices fell sharply on Monday morning, tracking steep losses in global futures markets over the past week, traders said.

Coffee prices in the Central Highlands were quoted at between 93,600 and 95,000 dong per kg, down an average of 5,000–6,000 dong per kg from a week earlier.
In Lam Dong province, coffee beans in Di Linh, Lam Ha and Bao Loc were purchased at around 93,600 dong per kg. In Dak Lak province, prices in Cu M’gar were seen at 94,800 dong per kg, while Ea H’leo and Buon Ho were quoted at about 94,700 dong per kg.
In Dak Nong province, coffee prices reached the highest level at 95,000 dong per kg, while traders in Gia Nghia and Dak R’lap offered around 94,900 dong per kg. In Gia Lai province, prices stood at 94,600 dong per kg in Chu Prong, and about 94,500 dong per kg in Pleiku and La Grai. Coffee in Kon Tum province was traded at approximately 94,500 dong per kg.
On the futures market, prices posted notable weekly declines. Robusta coffee for March 2026 delivery fell by $358 per metric ton over the week, while Arabica coffee for March delivery lost 23.25 cents per lb, weighing on domestic prices, traders said.
Market participants noted that selling pressure increased as international prices retreated, while domestic trading activity remained cautious ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
Hoang Duc Nhuan, Vietnamese Trade Counsellor in Algeria, said Vietnam’s coffee exports to the North African country reached 89,336 tonnes in 2025, with a turnover of nearly 455 million USD, representing a year-on-year increase of 161% in volume and 257% in value.
The 7th International Chocolate and Coffee Show (CHOCAF) officially opened on February 4 in the city of Oran, Algeria, attracting around 60 businesses as well as many experts and visitors from the host country and nations around the world, including Vietnam.
Running until February 7, the fair showcases the entire value chain of the coffee and chocolate industry, ranging from raw materials and machinery to finished products such as confectionery, chocolate and coffee. In addition to exhibition booths, CHOCAF 2026 features cooking demonstrations, skills competitions and professional exchange activities.
Speaking to Vietnam News Agency (VNA) correspondents in Algeria, Nguyen Huyen Tram, General Director of Phuoc An Coffee JSC from Vietnam’s Dak Lak province, said she attended the expo to introduce the company’s products, explore the Algerian market, including local coffee preferences, and learn about investment models in the country.
During her working trip to Algeria, Tram said she felt the special affection that Algerian people have for Vietnamese people and expressed her hope that the company’s products could soon be exported to this promising market.
