Vietnam live hog prices fell further on Feb 6, down 1,000–2,000 dong per kg

AsemconnectVietnam - According to Kinhtedothi, Vietnam’s live hog prices extended losses on Friday, slipping by 1,000–2,000 dong per kg in some localities, as northern and southern markets remained under mild downward pressure, traders said.

 
Nationally, live hog prices on Feb. 6 were traded in a range of 72,000–76,000 dong ($2.95–$3.12) per kg.
Northern Vietnam
In northern Vietnam, prices continued to edge lower, falling 1,000 dong per kg in several provinces, with prices ranging from 74,000 to 76,000 dong per kg.
Prices in Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Hai Phong, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Phu Tho and Hung Yen all declined by 1,000 dong.
After the adjustment, hogs in Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho and Hung Yen were quoted at 75,000 dong per kg, while Cao Bang and Lao Cai stood at 76,000 dong.
Prices in Hai Phong fell to 75,000 dong, while Lai Chau slipped to 74,000 dong per kg.
Meanwhile, Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, Ninh Binh and Son La were unchanged at 75,000 dong per kg, while Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Hanoi and Dien Bien continued to trade at 76,000 dong, traders said.
Central Highlands and Central Vietnam
In the Central Highlands and central region, hog prices were mostly stable, with limited declines seen in a few areas. Prices were quoted between 74,000 and 76,000 dong per kg.
Lam Dong recorded the steepest drop, falling 2,000 dong per kg to 74,000 dong.
Prices in Dak Lak slipped 1,000 dong to 74,000 dong per kg.
Elsewhere, prices in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai and Khanh Hoa held steady at 75,000 dong per kg.
Ha Tinh remained unchanged at 74,000 dong, while Quang Tri continued to post the highest level in the region at 76,000 dong per kg.
Southern Vietnam
In southern Vietnam, prices fell 1,000 dong per kg in several provinces, while many areas remained stable. The region traded in a range of 72,000–75,000 dong per kg.
Prices in Dong Nai, Tay Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City slipped 1,000 dong to 75,000 dong per kg.
Dong Thap held steady at 75,000 dong, while An Giang, Vinh Long and Can Tho remained unchanged at 73,000 dong per kg.
Ca Mau continued to trade at the lowest level in the region at 72,000 dong per kg, traders said.
