Measures to boost Vietnam-Egypt trade cooperation
Friday, February 6,2026
AsemconnectVietnam - According to the statistics figures from the Customs Department, Vietnam's exports to Egypt in 2025 were estimated to reach US$574.74 million, an increase of 28.44% compared to 2020.
Most export items in 2025 showed strong growth compared to 2020: Leading the way were mobile phones and components (up by 331.8%), seafood (up by 96.7%), and transportation vehicles and parts (up by 283.7%).
Some items saw a decrease in export value in 2025 compared to 2020, such as computers, electronic products and components (down by 56.4%), textile fibers (down by 64.3%), cashew nuts (down by 20%), and other base metals and products (down by 89.3%).
Vietnam has always valued and highly appreciated Egypt's leading role and position in North Africa in particular, and Africa in general.
The structure of import and export goods between the two countries is not competitive but complementary. Therefore, the two countries have great potential and room to further expand bilateral economic and trade cooperation, including cooperation in the fields of industry, agriculture, investment, and logistics.
To boost the exports to Egypt, businesses need to understand the business culture, customs, and legal system to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings and comply with current regulations.
At the same time, they need to clearly identify the goods that Egypt has a high demand for, especially products in which Vietnam has a competitive advantage. Businesses need to improve the competitiveness of their products; ensure that products meet high quality standards, international standards, and the requirements of high-demand import markets.
Furthermore, the businesses shoulds also develop a suitable and highly competitive pricing strategy compared to similar products from other countries; as well focus on attractive product design and packaging that appeals to consumer tastes; build and promote the product brand; and actively participate in international trade fairs and exhibitions in Egypt or specialized trade fairs related to the African market to introduce products and seek partners.
