Vietnam’s animal feed exports and imports in 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to preliminary statistics from the Customs Department, Vietnam's animal feed exports in 2025 were estimated to reach nearly US$1.44 billion, an increase of 38.5%, while animal feed imports are expected to exceed US$4.58 billion, a decrease of 6.4% compared to 2024.
Vietnam's animal feed exports in December and the whole year 2025
According to the preliminary statistics from the Customs Department, the total animal feed export value of the country in 2025 is projected to reach nearly US$1.44 billion, an increase of 38.5% compared to 2024; of which December of 2025 alone reached US$149.42 million, an increase of 12% compared to November of 2025 and a 55% increase compared to December of 2024.
Leading animal feed export markets in December and the whole year 2025
Exports of animal feed to China – the largest market – increased by 35.2% in December of 2025 compared to November of 2025 and by 84.5% compared to December of 2024, reaching over US$85.98 million. Overall, exports to this market in 2025 were estimated to reach US$670.18 million, an increase of 58.4% compared to 2024, accounting for 46.6% of the total export value of this product group nationwide.
Exports of animal feed to Cambodia – the second largest market – increased by 45.1% year-on-year, reaching US$183.55 million, accounting for 12.8% of the total export value. Specifically, in December of 2025, the exports decreased by 24% compared to November of 2025 but increased by 68.3% compared to December of 2024, reaching US$16.37 million.
The Malaysian market ranked third in terms of export value, reaching US$113.57 million, an increase of 12.3% compared to the same period last year; specifically in December of 2025, the exports of animal feed to this market decreased by 7% compared to November of 2025 but increased by 7.1% compared to December of 2024, reaching US$9.12 million.
Animal feed imports in December and the whole year 2025
In 2025, imports of animal feed reached over US$4.58 billion, a decrease of 6.4% compared to 2024.
According to the preliminary statistics from the Customs Department, imports of animal feed and raw materials into Vietnam in December of 2025 increased by 23.3% compared to November of 2025 but decreased by 13.4% compared to December of 2024, reaching US$395.72 million.
Overall in 2025, the imports of this product group will reach over US$4.58 billion, a decrease of 6.4% compared to 2024.
Main import markets for animal feed in Vietnam in December and the whole year of 2025
The largest source of animal feed and raw materials imports is Argentina, accounting for 36.6% of the total import value of this product group nationwide, reaching over US$1.68 billion, a decrease of 3.7% compared to 2024; of which, in December of 2025 alone, it reached US$75.95 million, a decrease of 32.5% compared to November of 2025 and a decrease of 59.9% compared to December of 2024.
The second largest market was the US, accounting for 18.8%, reaching over US$859.32 million, a decrease of 15.4% compared to the same period; In December of 2025 alone, imports from this market reached US$123.39 million, an increase of 109.3% compared to November of 2025 but a decrease of 4.5% compared to December of 2024.
The imports from Brazil in December of 2025 increased by 92.8% compared to November of 2025 but decreased by 46.5% compared to December of 2024, reaching US$11.91 million; for the whole year 2025, imports from this market decreased by 19.9% compared to 2024, reaching US$442.79 million, accounting for 9.7% of the total import value.
