Vietnam rice market flat on the morning of Feb. 2 as Nang Nhen prices stayed high

AsemconnectVietnam - According to Kinhtedothi, Vietnam’s domestic rice market was largely flat on the morning ofMonday, with thin trading and stable prices, traders said.
According to data from the An Giang Department of Agriculture and Environment and Lua Gao Viet, export-grade rice prices were little changed. CL 555 rice was traded at 8,100–8,200 dong per kg, while OM 18 ranged between 8,800 and 9,000 dong per kg.
OM 380 was quoted at 7,600–7,770 dong per kg, and OM 5451 at 8,800–8,900 dong per kg.
Dai Thom 8 rice traded at 8,650–8,800 dong per kg, while IR 504 ranged from 7,650 to 7,750 dong per kg.
Soc Thom rice was quoted at 7,500–7,600 dong per kg, and IR 504 finished rice stood at 9,500–9,700 dong per kg, unchanged from the end of last week.
Rice by-products were also stable, trading between 7,450 and 11,000 dong per kg. IR 5451 broken rice was quoted at 7,450–7,550 dong per kg, while rice bran traded at 10,000–11,000 dong per kg.
At the retail level, Nang Nhen rice remained the highest-priced variety at 28,000 dong per kg.
Huong Lai rice was quoted at 22,000 dong per kg, while Thai long-grain fragrant rice traded at 20,000–22,000 dong per kg.
Nang Hoa rice stood at 21,000 dong per kg, Taiwan fragrant rice at 20,000 dong per kg, and Jasmine rice ranged from 14,000 to 15,000 dong per kg.
Common white rice was sold at 16,000 dong per kg, Soc rice at 16,000–17,000 dong per kg, and ordinary rice at 12,000–13,000 dong per kg.
Thai Soc rice was priced at 20,000 dong per kg, while Japanese rice was quoted at 22,000 dong per kg.
Paddy prices
Fresh paddy prices were also unchanged. OM 18 and Dai Thom 8 paddy traded at 6,300–6,500 dong per kg, while OM 5451 ranged from 5,800 to 6,200 dong per kg.
OM 34 was quoted at 5,200–5,400 dong per kg, IR 50404 at 5,500–5,600 dong per kg, and OM 4218 at 6,000–6,200 dong per kg, steady from the end of last week.
Traders said buying activity remained limited across many localities, keeping prices stable.
Export market
On the export market, prices of Vietnamese rice were unchanged, according to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA).
5% broken fragrant rice was quoted at $415–$430 per tonne, 100% broken rice at $315–$319 per tonne, while Jasmine rice traded at $426–$430 per tonne.
