Vietnam’s domestic fertilizer market in January 2026

AsemconnectVietnam - Domestic fertilizer prices in Vietnam remained largely stable in January 2026, showing no significant changes from the previous period, as supply stayed abundant while demand had yet to see a sharp increase during the mid-season lull. However, compared with previous years, prices of most fertilizer products remained at relatively high levels.
In Northern Vietnam, fertilizer prices were unchanged. Ha Bac and Phu My urea were quoted at VND560,000–590,000 per bag and VND540,000–580,000 per bag, respectively. Viet Nhat-branded NPK 16-16-8 +TE was priced at VND420,000–440,000 per bag, while NPK 16-16-8 traded at around VND730,000–760,000 per bag.
In Central Vietnam, no new price adjustments were recorded. Phu My and Ha Anh powdered potassium fertilizer was sold at VND520,000–560,000 per bag, while NPK 16-16-8 was priced at VND700,000–740,000 per bag.
In the Mekong Delta, fertilizer prices remained subdued. Hong Ha DAP was the most expensive product in the region, quoted at VND1.25–1.30 million per bag. Ca Mau and Phu My urea were sold at VND620,000–640,000 per bag and VND610,000–630,000 per bag, respectively.
In Southeastern Vietnam and the Central Highlands, fertilizer prices also remained stable. Ca Mau and Phu My powdered potassium fertilizer was listed at VND490,000–580,000 per bag. NPK 16-16-8 prices ranged from VND650,000 to VND750,000 per bag, depending on brand. Phu My recorded the lowest prices, while Ca Mau and Dau Trau were quoted at higher levels.
Supply
According to preliminary data from Vietnam Customs, fertilizer imports in December 2025 reached 463,398 tonnes, worth USD158.54 million, with an average price of USD342.1 per tonne. This represented a 29.2% increase in volume and a 24.3% rise in value, while prices fell 3.9% month on month. Compared with December 2024, imports rose 5.5% in volume, 23.7% in value, and 17.3% in price.
For the full year 2025, Vietnam imported 6.19 million tonnes of fertilizer worth more than USD2.19 billion, up 16.9% in volume and 26.6% in value year on year. The average import price stood at USD354.3 per tonne, up 8.3%.
Imports from China, Vietnam’s largest supplier, fell 7.5% in volume and 19.2% in value month on month in December 2025, to 201,607 tonnes worth USD62.82 million, at an average price of USD311.6 per tonne. Year on year, volumes declined 20.5% and value dropped 5.6%, while prices rose 18.8%. For the whole of 2025, imports from China accounted for over 48% of Vietnam’s total fertilizer imports, reaching 2.99 million tonnes worth USD1.06 billion, up 26.7% in volume, 43.5% in value, and 13.2% in price from 2024.
Russia ranked second, accounting for 11% of total volume and 14.4% of total value, with imports of 679,652 tonnes worth USD315.19 million, at an average price of USD463.8 per tonne.
Laos ranked third, supplying 325,366 tonnes worth USD96.65 million, accounting for 5.3% of volume and 4.4% of value.

Vietnam’s fertilizer exports in 2025 exceeded 1.97 million tonnes, valued at USD844.97 million, with an average price of USD428.7 per tonne, up 14.1% in volume, 19% in value, and 4.4% in price year on year.
Exports were mainly destined for Cambodia, which accounted for 35.6% of total volume and 34% of total value.
