Vietnam's fertilizer exports and imports in December and whole year 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to statistics from the Customs Department, in 2025 the whole country exported over 1.97 million tonnes of various types of fertilizers, reaching an export value of 844.97 million USD, while the amount of fertilizer imported into the country will reach 6.19 million tonnes, equivalent to over 2.19 billion USD.
Fertilizer exports in December and the whole year 2025
According to calculations from the Customs Department's statistics, in 2025 the whole country exported over 1.97 million tonnes of various fertilizers, equivalent to 844.97 million USD, with an average price of 428.7 USD/tonne, an increase of 14.1% in volume, 19% in value, and 4.4% in price compared to 2024.
Specifically in December of 2025, the country’s exports of various fertilizers reached 114,545 tonnes, worth of 52.79 million USD, with an average price of 460.8 USD/tonne, an increase of 29% in volume, 19% in value, and a decrease of 7.8% in price compared to November of 2025. Compared to December of 2024, the figure was a 26% decrease in volume, a 19.2% decrease in value, but a 9.2% increase in price.
Vietnam's main fertilizer export markets in 2025
Vietnam's fertilizer exports were mostly to Cambodia, accounting for 35.6% of the total volume and 34% of the total export value of fertilizers nationwide, reaching 702,033 tonnes, equivalent to US$288.03 million, with an average price of US$410.3/tonne, an increase of 18.6% in volume, 19.6% in value, and 0.9% in price compared to 2024. In December of 2025 alone, exports to this market increased by 30.3% in volume, 37.7% in value, and 5.7% in price compared to November of 2025, reaching 51,926 tonnes, equivalent to US$22.36 million.
Following the main Cambodian market were South Korea, with 118,617 tonnes, equivalent to US$49.01 million, at an average price of US$413.2/tonne, a sharp decrease of 46.1% in volume and 45% in value, but an increase of 2.1% in price, accounting for 6% of the total volume and 5.8% of the total value of fertilizer exports nationwide.
The exports to the Malaysian market reached 109,624 tonnes, equivalent to US$47.63 million, at an average price of US$434.5/tonne, a decrease of 1.2% in volume but an increase of 8.8% in value and a 10.2% increase in price, accounting for over 5.6% of the total volume and total value.
The exports to the Philippines market reached 80,710 tonnes, equivalent to US$35.19 million, with an average price of US$436/tonne, a decrease of 26.2% in volume and 24.1% in value, but a 2.9% increase in price, accounting for over 4% of the total volume and total value.
Vietnam's fertilizer imports in December and the whole year 2025
According to preliminary statistics from the Customs Department, in December 2025, the whole country imported 463,398 tonnes of fertilizer, equivalent to US$158.54 million, with an average price of US$342.1/tonne, an increase of 29.2% in volume and 24.3% in value, but a decrease of 3.9% in price compared to November of 2025. Compared to December of 2024, there was a 5.5% increase in volume, a 23.7% increase in value, and a 17.3% increase in price.
For the whole year of 2025, the country's fertilizer imports reached 6.19 million tonnes, equivalent to over 2.19 billion USD, an increase of 16.9% in volume and 26.6% in value compared to 2024, with an average price of 354.3 USD/tonne, an increase of 8.3%.
Main fertilizer import markets of Vietnam in 2025
In December of 2025, fertilizer imports from the main market, China, decreased by 7.5% in volume, 19.2% in value, and 12.7% in price compared to November of 2025, reaching 201,607 tonnes, equivalent to US$62.82 million, at a price of US$311.6/tonne. Compared to December of 2024, there was a decrease of 20.5% in volume, a decrease of 5.6% in value, but an increase of 18.8% in price. Overall in 2025, the country’s fertilizer imports from China accounted for over 48% of the total volume and value of fertilizer imports nationwide, reaching 2.99 million tonnes, equivalent to US$1.06 billion, with an average price of US$355.3/tonne, representing a 26.7% increase in volume, a sharp 43.5% increase in value, and a 13.2% increase in price compared to 2024.
Following China was the Russian market, accounting for 11% of the total volume and 14.4% of the total value, reaching 679,652 tonnes, equivalent to US$315.19 million, with an average price of US$463.8/tonne, representing a 24% increase in volume, a 37.9% increase in value, but an 11.1% decrease in price compared to 2024.
Laos ranked third, reaching 325,366 tonnes, equivalent to US$96.65 million. The price was 297.2 USD/tonne, accounting for 5.3% of the total volume and 4.4% of the total value of fertilizer imports nationwide, a decrease of 2.4% in volume, but an increase of 12% in value and 14.8% in price compared to 2024.
