Exports of goods to Malaysia increased in 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to the calculations from the statistics figures of the Customs Department, in 2025, Vietnam's exports to Malaysia reached US$5.3 billion, an increase of 5.3% compared to the previous year.
Vietnamese goods exported to Malaysia included machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts; computers, electronic products and components; telephones of all types and components; iron and steel of all types.
The leading export items in 2025 were Computers, electronic products and components, reaching US$884 million, an increase of 262%, accounting for 16.5% of the total. The next was the group of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts, reaching US$548.9 million, an increase of 36.2%, accounting for 10.3% of the total.
Some items with increased in export value compared to the previous year, such as coffee increased by 37.1%; transportation equipment and parts increased by 48.9%; fruits and vegetables by 81.4%; iron and steel products by 63.1%; and petroleum products by 106%.
According to experts, Malaysia continues to be an important trading partner in the ASEAN region. The growth signals in electronics, agricultural products, and transportation equipment indicate that the export capacity and competitiveness of Vietnamese businesses are improving, especially in the context of post-pandemic economic recovery and effective utilization of free trade agreements such as CPTPP and RCEP.
