AsemconnectVietnam - The US–ASEAN Business Council expects the congress to outline a clear strategic direction that will guide the country into a new era of strong, sustainable growth - economically, socially, and in its global integration - particularly as Vietnam pursues its 10% GDP growth
As Vietnam targets over 10% GDP growth and enters a new development phase following the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), the US–ASEAN Business Council (USABC), pledges long-term support for investment, trade, and innovation, helping the country build a stronger, more prosperous future, Ambassador Brian McFeeters, USABC President and CEO, has stated.
In a recent interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency (VNA)'s correspondent in Washington D.C. on the occasion of the 14th National Party Congress, McFeeters said the event represents a pivotal moment for Vietnam’s long-term development.
The council expects the congress to outline a clear strategic direction that will guide the country into a new era of strong, sustainable growth - economically, socially, and in its global integration - particularly as Vietnam pursues its 10% GDP growth, he added.
McFeeters showed his hope that the CPV will advance policies that promote sustainable development, innovation, and a business friendly environment, while continuing to ensure macroeconomic stability and resilience amid global uncertainties.
Regarding policy priorities, McFeeters said the council hopes to see the 14th National Party Congress reaffirm Vietnam’s commitment to sustainable and inclusive economic growth through promoting a stable, predictable business environment for both domestic and foreign investors; strengthening governance, regulatory frameworks, and transparency, helping foster a more conducive investment climate; advancing infrastructure development, creating a strong foundation for long term growth; and accelerating innovation, digital transformation, and the growth of a knowledge based economy, enabling Vietnam to compete more effectively in the global marketplace.
McFeeters highly valued Vietnam’s efforts in comprehensively restructuring and streamlining the political and administrative systems, saying that this will enhance efficiency and position the country for sustained economic expansion over the coming decade.
The USABC and the American business community stand ready to continue supporting the Party and Government of Vietnam in realising the priorities set forth at the 14th National Party Congress, he said.
According to the USABC official, there are significant opportunities to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in economic engagement, trade, investment, and people-to-people connections.
USABC members can make meaningful contributions to mobilising investment and financing for strategic infrastructure projects in energy, transport, logistics, and digital connectivity through high quality private sector participation and public private partnerships, he stressed.
The council is also willing to assist Vietnam in advancing technology, digital transformation, innovation, and secure supply chains; as well as supporting capacity building and workforce development through training programmes for engineers, technicians, and managers, and expanding education-training cooperation, he added.
He also commended Vietnam’s remarkable socio-economic achievements in 2025, saying that these reflect the vision and dedication of the Party’s leadership.
McFeeters expressed his belief that Vietnam will enter a period of strong, inclusive, and sustainable growth under the leadership of the CPV and the Government.
He looks forward to leading a large delegation of top US companies to Hanoi from March 31, and hopes to have the opportunity to meet with the Party General Secretary and other senior leaders of Vietnam, thus reaffirming their commitment to serving as a long-term partner to Vietnam./.
