 Tuesday, January 13,2026

AsemconnectVietnam - Cumulatively from beginning of this year to December 15, 2025, coffee export reached 1.48 million tonnes, worth US$8.36 billion, an increase of 16.9% in volume and 60.7% in value compared to the same period in 2024.

Import-Export Department cited statistics from Vietnam Customs Department, showing that Vietnam's coffee exports in the first 15 days of December 2025 reached 76,100 tonnes, worth US$401.6 million, an increase of 101.9% in volume and 83.9% in value compared to the first 15 days of November 2025; compared to the first 15 days of December 2024, an increase was 51.9% in volume and 47.6% in value. Cumulatively from the beginning of the year to December 15, 2025, coffee exports reached 1.48 million tonnes, valued at US$8.36 billion, an increase of 16.9% in volume and 60.7% in value compared to the same period in 2024. Average export price of Vietnamese coffee in November 2025 reached US$5,715/tonne, a decrease of 1.0% compared to October 2025, but an increase of 2.4% compared to November 2024.
In context of global coffee market in 2025, supply continues to face pressure due to unfavorable weather conditions in many major producing countries, especially Brazil and Vietnam, while consumption demand remains stable in key markets such as Europe and the US. As a result, coffee prices are expected to remain high for an extended period, contributing to outstanding growth in Vietnam's export revenue.
Average export price of coffee in the first 11 months of 2025 reached US$5,661/tonne, an increase of 39.8% compared to the same period in 2024. Specifically, average export price of Robusta coffee reached US$5,125/tonne, an increase of 40.8% compared to the same period in 2024; average export price of Arabica coffee reached US$6,650/tonne, an increase of 91.0%; and the average export price of Excelsa coffee reached US$5,457/tonne, an increase of 17.0% compared to the same period in 2024.
In the first 11 months of 2025, Vietnam's coffee exports recorded positive growth for most varieties compared to the same period in 2024, except for Excelsa coffee. Robusta coffee exports were the largest, accounting for 73.8% of total export value. Next, export of processed coffee accounted for 20.3%, thanks to a structural shift towards processed, high-value-added products, meeting growing demand for instant, roasted and high-quality coffee in key markets, along with improved domestic processing capacity and effective utilization of Free Trade Agreements. In addition, Arabica coffee exports accounted for a low percentage.
World coffee prices fell due to selling by investors after a period of sustained high prices. Furthermore, improved weather prospects in Brazil compared to the previous period helped alleviate concerns about a potential decline in Arabica coffee production in the next crop year.
However, fundamental factors of coffee market remain stable. Inventories of certified coffee at international exchanges continue to remain low, while the supply of Robusta coffee from key producing countries, including Vietnam and Indonesia, shows no significant increase. In Indonesia, unfavorable weather conditions could affect harvesting progress and product quality, posing a risk to future supply.
Furthermore, coffee growers in many countries maintain a cautious attitude towards selling, contributing to limiting the amount of goods released onto the market. Forecasts indicate stable demand, low inventory levels and no significant increase in supply, supporting a gradual recovery in coffee prices in the coming period. On December 26, 2025, Robusta coffee futures for January 2026 and March 2026 on the London exchange fell by 12.1% and 12.6% respectively compared to December 1, 2025, to US$4,012/tonne and US$3,858/tonne.
By the end of December 2025, Vietnam will enter final stage of its coffee harvest, with less supply released onto the market than at the beginning of the season. However, domestic Robusta coffee prices will follow trend of world prices. Forecasts indicate that closing of the harvest and shrinking domestic supply will contribute to recovery of domestic coffee prices. Coffee prices in Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Gia Lai, and Dak Nong provinces on December 26, 2025, decreased from 14,200 - 15,500 VND/kg compared to December 1, 2025, fluctuating between 95,000 - 96,800 VND/kg (depending on the surveyed area).
