Tuesday, January 13,2026
AsemconnectVietnam - According to statistics from the Customs Department, Vietnam's exports to the UK market in 2025 reached over US$8.3 billion, an increase of 11.2% compared to the previous year.
The leading export items to the UK in 2025 were telephones of all types and components, reaching $1.35 billion, an increase of 22.7%, accounting for 16.1% of the total; followed by computers, electronic products and components, reaching $1.3 billion, an increase of 53%, accounting for 15.5% of the total.
In 2025, several items saw significant increases in export value compared to the previous year, such as toys, sports equipment and parts, up by 60.5%; coffee, up by 55.3%; cashew nuts, up by 42.5%; and fruits and vegetables, up by 50.7% and pepper prices increased by 61.5%.
Standardization is a common and almost prerequisite requirement for British businesses when they import goods. This reflects the trend towards sustainable, environmentally friendly consumption, the requirement to avoid plastic packaging, supply chain transparency, and product traceability through digital tools.
Furthermore, the trend towards sustainable, environmentally friendly consumption and emission reduction is a priority agenda of the British government over many periods. The agenda of reducing emissions, minimizing environmental pollution, and combating climate change has been incorporated into trade policy, and British businesses and consumers are highly aware of this.
In addition, trade relations between Vietnam and the United Kingdom are developing very well. In the minds of British businesses and consumers, Vietnam is a developing country, an open economy, deeply integrated, with a growing scale of production and trade thanks to domestic investment and FDI. British businesses highly value the Vietnamese economy in general and the supply capacity of Vietnamese businesses in particular.
Besides the many favorable factors for Vietnamese businesses due to the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries, the boost from the UKVFTA helps Vietnamese exporters compete more effectively with many similar products from other countries in the region and many other parts of the world in the UK.
