Exports to Japan showed growth in 11 months of 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to statistics from the Customs Department, Vietnam's exports to the Japanese market in November of 2025 reached US$2.34 billion, a decrease of 1.7% compared to the previous month.
For the first 11 months of 2025, the country’s exports to Japan totaled over US$24.3 billion, an increase of 8.5% compared to the same period last year.
With a population of over 126 million, Japan is a market with high import and consumption demand for products such as: fish and processed fish products, shrimp, eel, meat, meat products, soybeans, cereal products, fresh and processed fruits and vegetables, coffee, etc.
Meanwhile, Vietnam is considered a country with strengths in these goods and has the capacity to supply the Japanese market effectively.
Leading the export value in the first 11 months of 2025 were textiles and garments, reaching US$4.1 billion, a 6.3% increase compared to the same period last year, accounting for 17.1% of total exports. The next were transportation vehicles and parts, reaching US$2.9 billion, an 8.9% increase, accounting for 12.2%. Following that was the group of machinery, equipment, tools and parts, reaching US$2.4 billion, accounting for 10% of total exports.
Several other items that achieved export value growth in the first 11 months of 2025 compared to the same period last year include mobile phones and components (up by 19.1%); coffee (up by 52.8%); confectionery (up by 37.2%); and pepper (up by 32.1%).
Highly appreciating the potential for trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Japan, especially in agricultural and food products, experts from Japan believe that Vietnamese agricultural and food products are increasingly being accepted by Japanese consumers.
