Trade revenue approached $900 billion mark

AsemconnectVietnam - By mid-December 2025, Vietnam's import and export turnover had reached US$883.72 billion, nearly reaching the record mark of $900 billion. The total goods import and export turnover reached $839.75 billion.
The Bilateral trade between Vietnam and the United States is growing strongly in both scale and quality.
Vietnam's imports and exports are on the verge of strategic transformation.
According to the latest statistics from the Customs Department, in the first half of December of 2025 (from December 1-15), Vietnam's export turnover reached $20.2 billion.
During this period, five export product groups achieved turnover of $1 billion or more, including computers, electronic products and components at $4.98 billion; machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts at $2.41 billion; telephones and components at $1.97 billion; textiles and garments reached US$1.64 billion; footwear of all kinds reached US$1.08 billion.
Overall, from the beginning of the year to December 15th, the total export turnover of the whole country reached US$451.18 billion, an increase of 16.93% compared to the same period last year (equivalent to an increase of US$65.33 billion).
Conversely, the country’s imports of goods in December of 2025 reached US$22.16 billion. The turnover of two product groups reached "billion-dollar” included computers, electronic products and components reached $7.15 billion; machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts reached $3.05 billion.
As of December 15th, the total import turnover of the whole country reached $432.54 billion, an increase of 19.43% compared to the same period last year (equivalent to an increase of $70.73 billion).
In the first half of February, Vietnam had a trade deficit of $1.96 billion. However, totally from the beginning of the year to December 15th, Vietnam still recorded a trade surplus of $18.64 billion.
With import and export turnover in the first half of December averaging nearly $3 billion per day, the record milestone of $900 billion that Vietnam is aiming for is only days away.
Notably, 2025 will also be the first year that Vietnam will witness a "double record" in import and export activities, reaching US$800 billion and US$900 billion respectively.
