 Friday, November 28,2025

AsemconnectVietnam - On November 24, 2025, Vietjet (stock code VJC) officially received the first Boeing 737-8 aircraft in a 200-aircraft order worth 32 billion USD with the manufacturer Boeing (USA), marking an important step in the strategy of synchronizing the fleet according to each market, improving operational efficiency and promoting sustainable development of the International Aviation Group.

The new aircraft was received at Suvarnabhumi International Airport (Bangkok), part of a batch of 50 aircraft that will be received and operated by Vietjet Thailand from now until 2028, to meet the increasing travel demand and expand the flight network connecting important destinations across the Asia-Pacific region.
The Boeing fleet is invested in Vietjet Thailand. The airline will operate its first commercial flight using Boeing 737-8 on the domestic route Bangkok-Chiang Mai. In Vietnam, the airline continues to operate the Airbus fleet. With experience in operating a new-generation fleet, along with a global partner ecosystem, Vietjet is strengthening its international flight network through key aviation hubs in Asia-Pacific and gradually expanding to Europe and America.
The Boeing 737-8 is equipped with improved aerodynamics and the new generation LEAP-1B engine, fully compatible with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), helping to reduce CO2 emissions by 15-20% and reduce noise by up to 50% according to ICAO standards. With a maximum range of up to 6,570 km, the aircraft can operate on longer routes, reaching more distant destinations. The Boeing Sky Interior design provides a spacious and modern cabin space, along with a larger luggage compartment, helping passengers enjoy a comfortable and complete journey.
Vietjet’s order for 200 aircraft with Boeing is one of the typical agreements that positively contributes to the bilateral trade balance between Vietnam and the United States. The modern fleet will continue to help Vietjet promote regional aviation and economic growth, create sustainable value for investors, and bring safe, quality and memorable journeys to millions of customers around the world.
