Fertilizer imports increased by 33% in first 10 months of 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - In the first 10 months of 2025, fertilizer imports reached 5.37 million tonnes, worth of nearly 1.91 billion USD, up by 23.3% in volume, up by 33% in value compared to the first 10 months of 2024.
According to preliminary data from the Customs Department, in October of 2025, Vietnam imported 546,936 tonnes of fertilizer, worth of 202.35 million USD, with an average price of 370 USD/tonne, up by 13.5% in volume, up by 4.6% in turnover but down by 7.9% in price compared to September of 2025. Compared to October of 2024, it increased in both volume, turnover and price, with increases of 6.2%, 27.5% and 20.1% respectively.
In the first 10 months of 2025, fertilizer imports reached nearly 5.37 million tonnes, worth of nearly 1.91 billion USD, with an average price of 355.1 USD/tonne, up by 23.3% in volume, 33% in turnover and 7.9% in price compared to the first 10 months of 2024. The largest amount of fertilizer imported to Vietnam came from the Chinese market, accounting for over 47.8% in both volume and 48.2% in turnover of the country's total fertilizer imports, reaching 2.56 million tonnes, worth of 918.54 million USD, with an average price of 358.4 USD/tonne; increased by 38.8% in volume, 56.2% in turnover and 12.5% in price compared to the first 10 months of 2024.
The second largest market is the Russian market, accounting for 11.5% in volume and 14.8% in turnover, reaching 618,748 tonnes, worth of 282.64 million USD, average price 456.8 USD/tonne; increased by 23% in volume, 34.9% in turnover and 9.6% in price;
The next was the Lao market, accounting for 5.4% in volume and 4.5% in turnover, reaching 291,929 tonnes, worth of 85.64 million USD, average price 293.4 USD/tonne; increased by 0.2% in volume, 13.5% in turnover and 13.3% in price.
