Petroleum imports reached more than 8 million tonnes in 10 months

AsemconnectVietnam - According to preliminary statistics from the Customs, petroleum imports to Vietnam in October of 2025 decreased by 7.2% in volume and 7.8% in value compared to the previous month, reaching 703,920 tonnes.
In the 10 months of 2025, the amount of imported petroleum reached 8,328,355 tonnes, worth 5.6 billion USD.
Vietnam imported the most petroleum from Singapore in the 10 months of 2025, accounting for 34-35% of the total import volume and value, reaching 2,873,717 tonnes, worth 2.01 billion USD, up by 33.5% in volume and 16% in value compared to the same period in 2024. In October of 2025 alone, the country’s petroleum imports increased by 26.6% in volume and 22.2% in value compared to September of 2025, reaching 233,907 tonnes, worth 160.1 million USD.
It was followed by the Korean market, accounting for 27-28% of the total import volume and value in the 10 months of 2025, reaching 2,348,190 tonnes, worth of 1.5 billion USD, down by 10.9% in volume and down by 20.7% in value. In October of 2025 alone, the imports of petroleum reached 152,880 tonnes, worth of 100.7 million USD, down by 33.5% in volume and down by 34.5% in value.
The next was the Malaysian market, which in the first 10 months of 2025 accounted for 15-16% of the total import volume and value, down by 26.2% in volume and down by 38.7% in value, reaching 1,371,236 tonnes, worth of 901.9 million USD. In October of 2025 alone, imports from this market decreased by 27.9% in volume and value.
Imports of gasoline and oil from China accounted for 13% of the total volume and value in the first 10 months of 2025, reaching 1,115,224 tonnes, worth of 784.2 million USD, up by 15.5% in volume and up by 1.8% in value. In October of 2025 alone, imports reached 98,805 tonnes, worth of 72.2 million USD, down by 5.2% in volume and down by 4.5% in value.
The next was the Thai market, accounting for 3% of the total import volume and turnover in the first 10 months of 2025, down by 50.5% in volume and down by 54.3% in turnover, reaching 301,790 tonnes, worth of 214 million USD. In October of 2025 alone, imports reached 73,362 tonnes, worth of 51.1 million USD, up by 4.1% in volume and up by 1.9% in value.
