Soybean imports reached over 1 billion USD in first 10 months of 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to preliminary statistics of the Customs Department, soybean imports of all kinds in the first 10 months of 2025 reached 2.16 million tonnes, worth of over 1 billion USD, with an average price of 464.9 USD/tonne, up by 18.8% in volume, up by 7.2% in turnover but down by 9.8% in price compared to the first 10 months of 2024.
In particular, in October of 2025 alone, the import turnover reached 206,881 tonnes, equivalent to 98.5 million USD, with an average price of 476.1 USD/tonne, up by 47.2% in volume, up by 46.4% in turnover but down by 0.5% in price compared to September of 2025. Compared to October of 2024, it decreased by 7.1% in volume, 10.3% in value and 3.4% in price. Brazil was the largest market supplying soybeans to Vietnam in the first 10 months of 2025, accounting for 55.4% of the total volume and 55.9% of the total soybean import turnover of the country, reaching 1.19 million tonnes, equivalent to nearly 561.28 million USD, the average price was 469.7 USD/tonne, up by 11.2% in volume, up by 4.8% in value but down by 5.8% in price compared to the first 10 months of 2024. In October of 2025 alone, it reached 89,546 tonnes, equivalent to 42.81 million USD, price 478.1 USD/tonne, up by 27.8% in volume, up by 23.1% in turnover but price decreased 3.7% compared to September of 2025. Compared to October of 2024, it also decreased 33.3% in volume, decreased 35.1% in turnover and decreased 2.7% in price. The second largest market was the US, in the first 10 months of 2025 the imports of soybean from the US reached 773,296 tonnes, equivalent to 350.8 million USD, with the price of 453.7 USD/tonne, accounting for 35.8% of the total volume and 35% of the total soybean import turnover of the whole country, up by 36% in volume, up by 16.3% in turnover but price decreased 14.5% compared to 10 months of 2024.
The next was the Canadian market in the first 10 months of 2025 reaching 147,430 tonnes, equivalent to 70.76 million USD, price of 480 USD/tonne, accounting for 6.8% of the total volume and 7.1% of the total soybean import turnover of the whole country, up sharply by 35.3% in volume, up by 9.8% in turnover but price decreased 18.8% compared to 10 months of 2024.
