Corn import markets in 10 months of 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to preliminary statistics of the Customs Department, corn imports of all kinds in the first 10 months of 2025 reached nearly 9.52 million tonnes, worth of over 2.38 billion USD, average price of 249.7 USD/tonne, down by 1.2% in volume, but up by 1.4% in turnover and up by 2.6% in price compared to the first 10 months of 2024.
In particular, October of 2025 alone reached 1.33 million tonnes, equivalent to 313.37 million USD, average price of 234.9 USD/tonne, down by 7.9% in volume and down by 7.4% in turnover but up by 0.5% in price compared to September of 2025. Compared to October of 2024, it also decreased by 13.9% in volume, decreased by 13.1% in turnover but increased by 0.9% in price. Argentina was the largest market supplying corn to Vietnam in the first 10 months of 2025, accounting for over 52% of the total volume and total corn import turnover of the whole country, reaching nearly 4.97 million tonnes, equivalent to nearly 1.24 billion USD, average price of 249.6 USD/tonne, decreased by 7.2% in volume, decreased by 3.4% in turnover but increased by 4.1% in price compared to the first 10 months of 2024. In October of 2025 alone, it reached 477,513 tonnes, equivalent to 111.73 million USD, price 234 USD/tonne, down by 38.5% in volume, down by 38.1% in turnover but up by 0.6% in price compared to September of 2025. Compared to October of 2024, it also decreased 35.6% in volume, down by 35% in turnover but price increased 0.8%. The second largest market was Brazil, with 2.9 million tonnes in the first 10 months of 2025, equivalent to 699.65 million USD, priced at 241.3 USD/tonne, accounting for 30.5% of the total volume and 29.4% of the total corn import turnover of the country, down by 8.1% in volume, down by 9.3% in turnover and down by 1.4% in price compared to the first 10 months of 2024. In addition to the above two main markets, Vietnam also imported corn from the Lao market in the first 10 months of 2025, reaching 54,292 tonnes, equivalent to 12.23 million USD, priced at 225.2 USD/tonne, down 29.4% in volume, down by 36.3% in turnover and down by 9.7% in price compared to the first 10 months of 2024. The imports from the Thai market reached 3,655 tonnes, equivalent to 14.38 million USD, up by 2.9% in volume, up 11.7% in value; imports from the Cambodian market reached 79,220 tonnes, equivalent to 18.01 million USD.
