Hue City: Exports continue to grow by double digits
Friday, November 21,2025
AsemconnectVietnam - Export turnover of Hue City in the first 10 months of 2025 increased by nearly 22%, reaching more than 1.23 billion USD, showing the strong resilience of the local economy.
Hue City continues to record impressive results in export activities when export turnover of goods in October 2025 is estimated at 121.85 million USD, an increase of 9.51% over the same period in 2024. In the first 10 months of the year, export turnover reached more than 1.23 billion USD, an increase of 21.94% over the same period and completed 86.22% of the 2025 plan.
This result reflects efforts of local enterprises in recovering production, expanding markets and effectively utilizing free trade agreements. The double-digit growth helps Hue continue to affirm its position as a bright spot in the Central region in terms of production and export capacity.
Department of Industry and Trade of Hue City said that in the first 10 months of 2025, most of the city's key export groups grew. Of which, the agricultural and aquatic products group reached 80.87 million USD, up 76.19% over the same period, accounting for 6.55% of total export turnover. Processing industry group reached 896.50 million USD, accounting for 72.7% and up 13.5%. Within this group, garments increased the most with 595.66 million USD, up 46.66%; while fibers, textile fibers of all kinds and wood and wood products decreased slightly, respectively 5.18% and 8.49%. Other groups such as incense, incense powder, beer, sake, handicrafts, cement packaging... reached 255.61 million USD, up 56.12%, accounting for 20.73% of total export turnover.
“This structure shows that Hue not only relies on traditional industrial groups but also expands to many high value-added products, contributing to increasing the proportion of domestic exports,” said Dang Huu Phuc, Director of Department of Industry and Trade of Hue City.
By the end of October 2025, enterprises in Hue City had exported to nearly 60 countries and territories around the world, including Korea, Japan, China, ASEAN countries and Europe...Expanding the market contributes to reducing dependence on a few major partners, while increasing resilience to global trade fluctuations.
According to Hue City Customs Department, reforming administrative procedures, applying online public services and supporting businesses to quickly clear customs have played an important role in promoting export activities.
Leader of Department of Industry and Trade of Hue City added that Hue enterprises still have a lot of room for growth if they continue to focus on developing deeply processed industrial products and promoting export of processed agricultural products. Making good use of the commitments in EVFTA and RCEP Agreements will help Hue businesses expand to European and Asia-Pacific markets. In addition, investing in logistics, warehouses and export quality inspection centers will be the "key" to helping Hue increase its competitiveness in the coming period.
