AsemconnectVietnam - In the first 10 months of 2025, machinery and equipment imports reached over 49.55 billion USD, up by 24.8% over the same period of 2024.

According to preliminary statistics from the Customs Department, machinery and equipment imports to Vietnam in October of 2025 decreased by 2.3% compared to September of 2025 but increased by 22.9% compared to October of 2024, reaching over 5.28 billion USD. In the first 10 months of 2025, the total import value of this group of goods reached over 49.55 billion USD, an increase of 24.8% compared to the same period of 2024.
Machinery and equipment imported to Vietnam mostly originated from China, accounting for 63.4% of the total import value of this group of goods nationwide, reaching nearly 31.41 billion USD, an increase of 34.4% compared to the same period of 2024; of which the figure of October of 2025 alone reached over 3.22 billion USD, down by 5.4% compared to September of 2025 but up by 28% compared to October of 2024.
Following the main market of China was the Japanese market, accounting for 8.2%, reaching over 4.04 billion USD, an increase of 24.3%. In October of 2025 alone, imports from this market reached 385.15 million USD, down by 0.9% compared to September of 2025 and down by 1.9% compared to October of 2024. The next was the South Korean market reached nearly 3.82 billion USD, down by 14.3%, accounting for 7.7%.
On the other hand, the exports of machinery and equipment to markets in the first 10 months of 2025 reached nearly 48.41 billion USD, up by 12.5% over the same period in 2024. Thus, Vietnam's trade deficit in the group of machinery and equipment products reached nearly 1.15 billion USD; while in the first 10 months of 2024, Vietnam's trade surplus in this group of products was nearly 3.35 billion USD.
