Main commodity groups imported from New Zealand in 9 months of 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to preliminary statistics from the General Department of Customs, goods imported from New Zealand to Vietnam reached over 587.09 million USD in the first 9 months of 2025, an increase of 29.73% over the same period of 2024.

In September of 2025 alone, the turnover reached over 60.4 million USD, an increase of 15.83% compared to August of 2025 and an increase of 17.26% compared to September of 2024.
In the opposite direction, goods exports to New Zealand reached over 528.27 million USD in the first 9 months of 2025, an increase of 0.98% compared to the first 9 months of 2024. Thus, the total two-way turnover between Vietnam and New Zealand reached 1.12 billion USD, an increase of 14.32% compared to the first 9 months of 2024.
Vietnam's trade deficit with the New Zealand market in the first 9 months of 2025 reached 58.82 million USD, while in the first 9 months of 2024, Vietnam's trade surplus with the New Zealand market reached 70.58 million USD.
In 2024, the total two-way turnover between Vietnam and New Zealand reached over 1.29 billion USD, a decrease of 2.9% compared to 2023. Of which, Vietnam exported 686.79 million USD to New Zealand, up by 5.9% and imported 604 million USD from this market, down 11.2%. Thus, Vietnam's trade surplus with the New Zealand market in 2024 reached 82.78 million USD, while in 2023 it had a trade deficit with New Zealand of 31.52 million USD.
In the first 9 months of 2025, the group of milk and dairy products imported from New Zealand reached the largest turnover of over 311.81 million USD, accounting for 53.11% of the total import turnover of all kinds of goods from this market, a sharp increase of 47.21% compared to the first 9 months of 2024. In September of 2025 alone, imports reached nearly 19.94 million USD, down by 16.87% compared to August 2025 and down by 0.16% compared to September of 2024.
The group of imported fruits and vegetables from New Zealand ranked second in terms of turnover, reaching 106.82 million USD, accounting for 18.19% of the total turnover, up by 15.8%. The next was the group of wood and wood Products, reaching 50.81 million USD, accounting for 8.65% of the total turnover, up by 16.96%.
