Main commodity groups exported to New Zealand in first 9 months of 2025
Thursday, October 30,2025
AsemconnectVietnam - According to statistics from the Customs Department, the export turnover of Vietnamese goods to the New Zealand market in September of 2025 reached 66.6 million USD, up by 9.4% over the previous month, and in the first 9 months of 2025 it reached 528.2 million USD, up by 0.9% over the same period last year.
The leading commodity group in export turnover in the first 9 months of 2025 was the group of commodities: Telephones of all kinds and components reached 134.4 million USD, down by 11.7%, accounting for 25.4% of the proportion; followed by computers, electronic products and components reached 64.2 million USD, up by 21.6%, accounting for 12.1% of the proportion; then by textiles, reaching 41.8 million USD, up by 1.5%, accounting for 7.9% of the proportion.
In the first 9 months of 2025, some items had increased export turnover compared to the same period last year, such as wood and wood products increased by 46.5%; cashew nuts increased by 11.9%; furniture products made from non-wood materials increased by 15.5%.
Vietnam and New Zealand both participate in multilateral FTAs such as the ASEAN - Australia - New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (AANZFTA), the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and the Regional Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP), which makes tariff and non-tariff barriers increasingly low or eliminated. This is a great advantage to help Vietnamese goods increase their competitiveness with goods from countries that do not have FTAs with New Zealand. New Zealand's policy of seeking other supply partners and markets outside the EU and China also contributes to opening up opportunities for Vietnam in the field of import and export.
