AsemconnectVietnam - According to statistics from the Customs Department, the export turnover of Vietnamese goods to Laos in September of 2025 reached 71.4 million USD, an increase of 22.9% compared to the previous month.

In the first 9 months of 2025, it reached 884.4 million USD, an increase of 79.7%.
The commodity with the largest export turnover to the Lao market in the first 9 months of 2025 was chemical products reaching 350.9 million USD, accounting for 39.6% of the export proportion, an increase of 417.9%; followed by the group of other machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts reaching 94.7 million USD, an increase of 130.6%, accounting for 10.7% of the export proportion.
Some items with increased export turnover in the first 9 months of 2025 compared to the same period last year, such as iron and steel products increased by 43.6%; iron and steel of all kinds increased by 80.7%; animal feed and raw materials increased by 62.8%; paper and paper products increased by 80.7%; other base metals and products increased by 308.5%; electric wires and cables increased by 122.5%; clinker and cement increased by 380.3%.
In addition, Vietnam also exports other items to the Lao market, such as machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts; plastic products; vegetables and fruits; confectionery and cereal products; paper and paper products; fertilizer; ceramics.
To be able to take advantage of and promote development opportunities and overcome difficulties and challenges, Vietnamese enterprises need to increase their initiative to exploit all export advantages to Laos and increase export scale.
