Vietnam Fertilizer Market – October 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - Domestic fertilizer prices in October 2025 remained stable with no significant fluctuations compared to previous months. The market continued to show strong supply while demand did not surge during the mid-crop season. However, compared with previous years, prices of most fertilizer categories were still maintained at high levels.
In the Northern region, fertilizer prices continued to move sideways. Specifically, Lam Thao superphosphate remained the lowest-priced product, ranging from VND250,000 – 270,000 per bag. NPK Viet Nhat and NPK Phu My were both listed at VND420,000 – 440,000 per bag. Urea Ca Mau and Urea Phu My continued to be traded at VND540,000 – 590,000 per bag.
Fertilizer prices in the Central region remained quiet. Ca Mau urea and Phu My urea were sold at VND620,000 – 650,000 per bag and VND610,000 – 640,000 per bag, respectively. Powdered potassium fertilizer was still offered at VND520,000 – 560,000 per bag.
In the Southwestern region, fertilizer prices stayed stable without new adjustments. NPK 20-20-15 Ba Con Co was traded at VND870,000 – 900,000 per bag, while urea prices hovered around VND610,000 – 640,000 per bag.
In the Southeastern region and Central Highlands, prices of all major fertilizers were stable. Ca Mau urea and Phu My urea were unchanged, quoted at VND610,000 – 650,000 per bag and VND610,000 – 660,000 per bag, respectively. NPK 20-20-15 Binh Dien recorded the highest selling prices, ranging from VND890,000 – 930,000 per bag.
Supply
According to preliminary statistics from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in September 2025, Vietnam imported 481,759 tonnes of fertilizers, worth USD193.45 million, with an average price of USD401.6/tonne. This represents a decline of 17.6% in volume and 13% in value, but a price increase of 5.6% compared to August 2025. Compared with September 2024, imports rose in all indicators, up 27.4% in volume, 37.8% in value, and 8.2% in price.
In the first nine months of 2025, Vietnam imported nearly 4.82 million tonnes of fertilizers, valued at over USD1.7 billion, with an average price of USD353.5/tonne. Imports increased 25.4% in volume, 33.4% in value, and 6.4% in price compared with the same period of 2024.
China remained the largest supplier, accounting for over 47% of both total volume and import value. Imports from China reached 2.27 million tonnes, worth USD805.31 million, averaging USD354.7/tonne, an increase of 40.4% in volume, 55.1% in value, and 10.4% in price year on year.
Russia ranked second, contributing 12.6% of volume and 16.2% of value, totaling 605,765 tonnes and USD276.09 million at USD455.8/tonne on average. Compared with the same period in 2024, imports increased 35.5% in volume, 43.9% in value, and 6.2% in price.
Laos ranked third with 285,767 tonnes, worth USD83.57 million, accounting for 5.9% of volume and 4.9% of value. Imports from Laos increased 8.4% in volume, 22.4% in value, and 12.9% in price year on year.

Exports
According to preliminary statistics from Vietnam Customs, September 2025 fertilizer exports reached 161,855 tonnes, valued at USD79.18 million (average USD489.2/tonne), decreasing 20.9% in volume and 15.4% in value, but increasing 7.1% in price compared with August 2025. Compared with September 2024, exports grew 26.8% in volume, 52.7% in value, and 20.5% in price.
In the first nine months of 2025, exports totaled nearly 1.67 million tonnes, worth USD703.34 million, at an average USD422.4/tonne, up 28.8% in volume, 32.5% in value, and 2.9% in price year on year.
Cambodia was the largest export destination, accounting for 33.5% of volume and 32.4% of value, equivalent to 557,884 tonnes worth USD227.84 million (average USD408.4/tonne). Shipments to Cambodia increased 33.2% in volume and 30.8% in value, though average prices fell 1.8%.
South Korea ranked second with 110,806 tonnes worth USD45.77 million, making up nearly 7% of both volume and value. These figures represented declines of 24.1% in volume and 23.7% in value, while the average export price was slightly higher (+0.6%).
Malaysia followed with 94,971 tonnes, valued USD39.92 million, accounting for nearly 6% of both total volume and value. Exports to Malaysia rose 3.2% in volume, 13.8% in value, and 10.3% in price year on year.
In general, Vietnam’s fertilizer exports increased in both shipment volume and export value in most international markets during the first nine months of 2025.
