AsemconnectVietnam - According to Kinhtedothi, domestic pepper prices remained unchanged at VND 144,000–146,000/kg as of October 22, 2025.

The International Pepper Community (IPC) has continuously adjusted Indonesia’s pepper prices since early this week. The Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA) has issued a warning about Vietnamese pepper exports to Taiwan (China) being found contaminated with Sudan IV.
In Đắk Lắk and Đắk Nông, pepper was purchased at VND146,000/kg; in Gia Lai, VND144,000/kg; in Đồng Nai, VND145,000/kg (up by VND500/kg); and in Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu and Bình Phước, VND145,500/kg.
Domestic prices were steady compared with yesterday.
At the latest session, the IPC listed:
• Black pepper Lampung (Indonesia): USD7,229/tonne (down 0.01%)
• Black pepper Brazil ASTA 570: USD6,100/tonne
• Black pepper Kuching (Malaysia) ASTA: USD9,500/tonne
• White pepper Muntok: USD10,085/tonne (down 0.03%)
• White pepper Malaysia ASTA: USD12,500/tonne
• Vietnam black pepper 500 g/l: USD6,400/tonne; 550 g/l: USD6,600/tonne
• Vietnam white pepper: USD9,050/tonne
The VPSA issued an urgent notice warning that pepper exports to Taiwan (China) have repeatedly tested positive for Sudan IV, resulting in destruction orders from authorities — causing heavy losses estimated at hundreds of thousands of USD per shipment.
While authorities are still coordinating on testing and handling protocols, the VPSA urged exporters not to ship pepper to Taiwan (China) unless they can ensure complete control of Sudan IV contamination and traceable, verified testing results.
Enterprises must also report immediately if shipments are flagged or tested, to coordinate responses and minimize losses.
