Pha Lai Thermal Power (PPC) reported a loss of VND14.3 billion in Q3

 Sunday, October 26,2025

AsemconnectVietnam - Pha Lai Thermal Power Joint Stock Company (code PPC) has just announced its financial statements for the third quarter of 2025 with net revenue reaching VND1,497 billion, a slight increase compared to the same period; but profit after tax was still negative VND14.3 billion, while in the same period it only lost VND5.3 billion.

Pha Lai Thermal Power said that the third quarter reported a loss due to a 17.7% decrease in financial revenue compared to the same period, to only VND27.77 billion, leading to a decrease in financial operating profit of VND18.39 billion. The reason is that the Company's capital-contributing units did not finish organizing the General Meeting of Shareholders until the second quarter, so the Company has not received dividends, while in the third quarter of last year it recorded VND45.47 billion.
In addition, PPC's other income in the third quarter of 2025 also decreased by VND 25.71 billion compared to the same period, leading to a decrease in other profits of VND 25.94 billion. This is because in the third quarter of 2024, the Company received money from the Civil Judgment Enforcement Department of Hai Duong province to transfer compensation from individuals according to criminal judgment No. 66/2023 and appeal No. 130/2024 with an amount of VND25.82 billion.
In the first 9 months of 2025, Pha Lai Thermal Power recorded VND4,973 billion in net revenue and VND 44.1 billion in profit after tax, down 16% and 82% respectively compared to the same period, the main reason is still due to a sharp decrease in financial revenue and other income.
Recently, PPC announced that on November 19, it will close the list of shareholders to pay the remaining 2024 dividend at a rate of 5% (01 share receives VND500). The implementation time is December 19.
With more than 320.6 million shares in circulation, Pha Lai Thermal Power will spend more than VND160 billion to pay this dividend to shareholders and complete the plan approved by the General Meeting of Shareholders. Previously, in February 2025, the Company paid the first dividend of 2024 in cash, at a rate of 2%.
On the stock market, at the close of trading on October 17, PPC shares decreased by 1.91%, down to 10,250 VND/share. However, compared to the most recent peak in mid-May, the shares have decreased by about 18%.
