Rubber imports increased in both volume and value in first 9 months of 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - In the first 9 months of 2025, rubber imports reached 1.33 million tonnes, equivalent to nearly 2.19 billion USD, up by 2.9% in volume and 10.8% in value compared to the first 9 months of 2024.
According to statistics from the Customs Department, in September of 2025, the country imported 146,946 tonnes of rubber, equivalent to 233.42 million USD, down by 13.1% in volume and down by 8.4% in value compared to August of 2025. Compared to September of 2024, it also decreased by 6.8% in volume and down 9.2% in value. The average import price in September of 2025 reached 1,588.5 USD/tonne, up by 5.4% compared to August of 2025 but down by 2.5% compared to September of 2024.
In the first 9 months of 2025, the total import of this group of goods reached 1.33 million tonnes, equivalent to nearly 2.19 billion USD, up by 2.9% in volume and 10.8% in value compared to the first 9 months of 2024. The average price in the whole 9 months reached 1,648.8 USD/tonne, up by 7.7%.
Rubber imported to Vietnam mainly originates from Cambodia, imports from this market alone account for 38.6% of the total rubber imported in the country and 31.2% of the total rubber import turnover of the country, reaching 511,809 tonnes, equivalent to nearly 682.18 million USD, priced at 1,332.9 USD/tonne, down by 9.3% in volume but up by 0.3% in turnover and up by 10.6% in price compared to the first 9 months of 2024.
Chinese market ranked second with 203,516 tonnes, equivalent to nearly 352.5 million USD, priced at 1,732.1 USD/tonne, accounting for 15.4% of the total volume and 16.1% of the total turnover, up by 43.4% in volume, up by 26.7% in turnover but down by 11.7% in price compared to the same period last year.
Rubber imports from the South Korean market increased by 6.4% in volume, increased by 3.1% in value but decreased by 3.1% in price, reaching 141,330 tonnes, worth of 235.57 million USD, priced at 1,666.8 USD/tonne, accounting for 10.7% of the total volume and 10.8% of the total turnover. Rubber imports from the Laos market decreased by 11.5% in volume, decreased by 0.9% in value but increased by 11.9% in price, reaching 110,069 tonnes, worth of 162.3 million USD, priced at 1,474.6 USD/tonne, accounting for 8.3% of the total volume and 7.4% of the total turnover.
