AsemconnectVietnam - According to the Customs Department, in the first 9 months of 2025, Vietnam-Australia trade exchange reached over 10.16 billion USD, down by 6.32% compared to the same period of 2024.
In particular, Vietnam's goods exports to Australia in the first 9 months of 2025 reached over 4.9 billion USD, while Vietnam's goods imports from Australia in the first 9 months of 2025 reached 5.21 billion USD.

According to the Customs Department, Vietnam's goods export turnover to the Australian market in the first 9 months of 2025 reached over 4.9 billion USD, down by 1.6% compared to the same period last year. In September of 2025 alone, the country’s exports to Australia reached 690.9 million USD, up by 16.6% over the previous month.

In the first 9 months of 2025, the group of computers, electronic products and components led the export turnover with 628.5 million USD, up by 29.7%, accounting for 12.7% of the export proportion. The next was the group of phones of all kinds and components with 562.5 million USD, down by 0.7% over the same period last year, accounting for 11.3% of the export proportion.
Some items with increased export turnover in the first 9 months of 2025 compared to the same period last year, such as iron and steel of all kinds increased by 37.7%; iron and steel products increased by 35.6%; coffee increased by 57.7%.

According to preliminary statistics of the Customs Department, the two-way trade relationship between Vietnam and Australia in the first 9 months of 2025 reached over 10.16 billion USD, down 6.32% compared to the same period in 2024.
In particular, goods imported from Australia into Vietnam reached over 5.21 billion USD in the first 9 months of 2025, down by 10.34% compared to the first 9 months of 2024.
In September of 2025 alone, import turnover increased by 5.56% compared to August of 2025, reaching over 518.45 million USD and down by10.35% compared to September 2024.
In the opposite direction, goods exports to Australia reached over 4.95 billion USD in the first 9 months of 2025, down by 1.67% compared to the first 9 months of 2024. Thus, Vietnam's trade deficit with Australia in the first 9 months reached nearly 260.16 million USD, down sharply by 66.52% compared to the first 9 months of 2024.
In 2024, the two-way trade relationship between Vietnam and Australia reached over 14.07 billion USD, up by 2.26% compared to 2023. The trade deficit with Australia in 2024 reached 1.16 billion USD, down by 66.16%.
Vietnam's main imported goods from Australia in the first 9 months of 2025
The largest imported goods group from Australia in the past 9 months was coal of all kinds reaching over 2.03 billion USD, accounting for 39.01% of the total import turnover of all kinds of goods from this market, down by 4.99% compared to the first 9 months of 2024.
The group of imported ores and minerals from Australia ranked second in terms of turnover reaching 902.78 million USD, accounting for 17.32% of the total turnover, up by 8.38%. The next was the group of common metals reaching over 740.06 million USD, accounting for 14.2%, down by 7.18%; wheat with 289.24 million USD, accounting for 5.55% of the total turnover, up by 4.54%.
In general, the majority of imported goods from Australia in the first 9 months of 2025 decreased in value compared to the same period of 2024.
