Vietnam - Pakistan trade exchange in first 9 months of 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to statistics from the Customs Department, the two-way trade between Vietnam and Pakistan in the first 9 months of 2025 reached over 616.01 million USD, down 3.07% over the same period of 2024.

Vietnam's exports of goods to Pakistan in the first 9 months of 2025
According to statistics from the Customs Department, Vietnam's goods export to the Pakistani market in September of 2025 reached 78.8 million USD, up by 16.5% over the previous month. In the first 9 months of 2025, it reached 474.7 million USD, up by 27.2% over the same period last year.
Vietnam's key items exported to the Pakistani market in the first 9 months of 2025
In the first 9 months of 2025, the group of products with the highest export turnover to the Pakistani market was phones of all kinds and components, reaching 120.1 million USD, up by 15.4% over the same period last year, accounting for 25.3% of the proportion. The next was the group of textile fibers and yarns reaching 69 million USD, up by 0.6%, accounting for 14.5% of the proportion. The third place was tea with 68.9 million USD, accounting for 14.5% of the proportion.
In the first 9 months of 2025, a number of products had export turnover growth compared to the same period last year, such as rubber increased by 37.5%; seafood increased by 76.3%; cashew nuts increased by 514.4%; iron and steel products increased by 53.4%.
Pakistan has a high import demand for most of Vietnam's export products, from traditional agricultural products (tea, pepper, cashew nuts, pangasius fillets, etc.) to consumer goods (clothes, shoes), new products with high technology content (mobile phones, washing machines, printers, etc.).
This market is also a market without overly complicated regulations on technical standards, animal and plant quarantine standards, food hygiene and safety standards, environmental protection standards, traceability standards, and labor standards.
Vietnam's imports of goods from Pakistan in the first 9 months of 2025
Goods imported from Pakistan into Vietnam in the first 9 months of 2025 reached over 151.26 million USD in the first 9 months of 2025, a sharp decrease of 44.57% compared to the first 9 months of 2024.
According to preliminary statistics of the Customs Department, the two-way trade relationship between Vietnam and Pakistan in the first 9 months of 2025 reached over 616.01 million USD, a decrease of 3.07% compared to the same period of 2024.
In particular, goods imported from Pakistan into Vietnam reached over 151.26 million USD in the first 9 months of 2025, a sharp decrease of 44.57% compared to the first 9 months of 2024.
In September of 2025 alone, import turnover increased by 8.83% compared to August of 2025, reaching over 21.9 million USD and an increase of 9.93% compared to September of 2024.
On the other hand, the country’s exports to Pakistan reached nearly 474.75 million USD in the first 9 months of 2025, an increase of 27.28% compared to the first 9 months of 2024. Thus, Vietnam's trade surplus with Pakistan in the first 9 months reached over 323.48 million USD, a sharp increase of 223.14% compared to the first 9 months of 2024.
In 2024, the two-way trade relationship between Vietnam and Pakistan reached nearly 850.04 million USD, an increase of 20.52% compared to 2023. The trade surplus with Pakistan in 2024 reached 194.72 million USD, an increase of 187.24%.
Vietnam's main imported goods from the Pakistani market in the first 9 months of 2025
The largest group of imported goods from Pakistan in the past 9 months was fabrics of all kinds, reaching nearly 32.85 million USD, accounting for 21.72% of the total import turnover of goods of all kinds from this market, down by 15.92% compared to the first 9 months of 2024.
The group of imported textile, garment, leather and footwear materials from Pakistan ranked second in terms of turnover, reaching 20.45 million USD, accounting for 13.52% of the total turnover, down 9.25%. The next was the group of textile fibers and yarns of all kinds, reaching over 7.33 million USD, accounting for 4.85%, down by 17.19%.
