AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam’s PMI in September reached 50.4 points, supporting and textile enterprises maintained stable production, focusing on meeting domestic demand and expanding exports.
The Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) in September reached 50.4 points, showing a slight growth trend in industrial production. Domestic enterprises still maintained stable production, focusing on meeting domestic demand and adjusting the workforce according to actual orders.
Speaking to a reporter from the Industry and Trade Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Tien Thuong, General Director of Brother Screw Joint Stock Company (an enterprise that produces auto and motorbike components for businesses such as Honda, VinFast, etc.) said that the company's orders still mainly serve the domestic market, while exports account for a lower proportion.
"The domestic market is quite stable. Customers are also expanding orders and introducing many new car models," said Mr. Nguyen Tien Thuong. Faced with increased production demand, the company is still recruiting more workers, but is currently facing difficulties in human resources.
Mr. Thuong said that for many months now, the unit has not been able to recruit enough workers, while recruiting office staff is easier. There are very few candidates applying, and surrounding companies are also facing a similar situation. To maintain production, the company mainly relies on overtime and motivating existing staff and workers.
“Regarding the full-year production plan, the company still expects to achieve a growth target of 20%. To increase output, the unit continues to invest in machinery and equipment according to the annual plan and recruit more workers when possible. However, the workforce is still a big challenge in meeting growth needs,” said Mr. Thuong.
Similarly, according to supporting industry manufacturing enterprises, although the industry has faced many difficulties this year, production activities are still stable and achieving positive results. Products such as auto parts and motorbikes are consumed well, with no recorded decline compared to the same period. Currently, businesses are also building plans for 2025 based on revenue results of the first 3 quarters of the year.
