- The 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) opened its 13th plenum in Hanoi on the morning of October 6.

In the morning, the Party Central Committee held a plenary session at the hall, with Party General Secretary To Lam delivering the opening speech, and Politburo member and State President Luong Cuong chairing, on behalf of the Politburo. Read full story

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on October 6 chaired a working session between the Government’s standing members and representatives of ministries, sectors, and localities to review the progress in addressing difficulties and obstacles facing long-delayed and stagnant projects under the Politburo’s conclusions, the National Assembly’s resolutions, and the Government’s decrees.

Through review, it has been found that across the country, there are numerous long-delayed and stagnant projects involving substantial social resources that are being wasted. These projects face legal obstacles related to land management, land use, and planning; some violated regulations or shown signs of violations; while many others remain stuck due to procedural and administrative bottlenecks. Read full story

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on October 6 stressed the need to rearrange public service units in line with the Party’s guidelines and practical requirements while chairing a meeting of the Government’s Steering Committee for reviewing Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW on the restructuring of public service units under ministries, sectors, and localities.

Following Document No. 59-CV/BCD dated September 12, 2025, issued by the Central Steering Committee for reviewing the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW on restructuring public service units, state-owned enterprises, and organisations within the political system, the Government Steering Committee issued a plan on this restructuring work. Read full story

- The signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, also called "Hanoi Convention", will be a high-level multilateral diplomatic event of profound political and legal significance, according to Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Pham The Tung.

He said the successful organisation of the event on October 25–26 will demonstrate Vietnam’s proactive and responsible role within the United Nations and the international community in building a safe, healthy, and law-based global cyberspace. Read full story

- Vietnam’s disbursement of foreign direct investment (FDI) in January – September recorded its highest level in five years, reaching 18.8 billion USD, a year-on-year increase of 8.5%, the National Statistics Office of Vietnam under the Ministry of Finance revealed on October 6.

Breaking down the figure, 15.56 billion USD was disbursed in manufacturing and processing, 1.37 billion USD in the realty market, and 598.7 million USD in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning production and distribution. Read full story

- Vietnam’s aquatic product industry has recorded a strong rebound, with export turnover in the first nine months of 2025 reaching 8.33 billion USD, up 15.5% year-on-year, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

In September alone, the exports earned nearly 991 million USD, rising 7.5% compared to the same month last year. The results reflect not only the sector’s solid recovery after recent fluctuations but also the adaptability of Vietnamese enterprises to global market shifts. Read full story

- Phu Quoc special zone of An Giang province is gearing up to welcome a significant influx of international tourists in the final months of 2025, as the island continues to consolidate its status as a high-end regional tourism hub.

According to the provincial Department of Tourism, nearly 20 million visitors travelled to the Mekong Delta province in the first nine months of 2025, including more than 1.2 million international tourists, generating total tourism revenue of over 51.87 trillion VND (1.96 billion USD). Read full story

- Vietnam’s business sector continued to show confidence in the domestic market during the first nine months of 2025, with capital expansion among operating enterprises soaring by more than 168% year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Finance.

Speaking at the Finance Ministry’s recent regular press conference, Deputy Director of the Department for the Development of Private Enterprises and Collective Economy Trinh Thi Huong said the additional registered capital of operating firms exceeded 3.3 quadrillion VND (over 125.13 billion USD)./. Read full story
