AsemconnectVietnam - According to statistics from the Customs Department, the export turnover of Vietnamese goods to Russia in the first 8 months of 2025 reached over 1.5 billion USD, up 0.09% over the same period last year.

Textiles and garments led the export turnover in the first 8 months of 2025, reaching 414 million USD, down by 24%, accounting for 26.1% of the export proportion. Next was coffee, reaching 328.4 million USD, up by 50.7% over the same period last year, accounting for 20.7% of the export proportion. The next was the group of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts, reaching 143.7 million USD, down by 11.2%, accounting for 9% of the proportion.
In the first 8 months of 2025, some export items increased compared to the same month of the previous year, such as pepper increased by 30.3%; footwear of all kinds increased by 101.8%; iron and steel of all kinds increased by 537.1%.
The rapid increase in trade turnover between Vietnam and Russia is mainly thanks to the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union (Vietnam - EAEU FTA), creating favorable conditions for businesses of the two countries to strengthen economic, trade and investment cooperation.
This agreement is having a positive effect on bilateral trade in which the Russian Federation and Vietnam are two active members. The agreement is a huge boost for Vietnam's exports, helping to diversify markets and export items, especially agricultural and aquatic products, food as well as Vietnamese products with many competitive advantages.
