Taking place on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the normalisation of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the US, the event not only marked an important milestone in cooperation between Vietjet and Boeing but also served as a vivid demonstration of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, contributing to the promotion of trade and investment and generating hundreds of thousands of jobs in the US.
Vietjet officially received its first Boeing 737-8 aircraft under an order of 200 jets worth 25 billion USD placed with Boeing. Speaking at the event, Vietjet Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao stressed that the delivery of the first Boeing aircraft from the historic order is a significant step forward in nearly a decade of cooperation between Vietjet and Boeing. She affirmed that it also represents a new symbol of Vietnam–US relations and of Vietjet’s aspiration to conquer the skies, bringing benefits to the economies and people of both countries.
