AsemconnectVietnam - In the first 8 months of 2025, fertilizer imports reached 4.34 million tonnes, worth of over 1.51 billion USD, up by 24.1% in volume, up by 33.1% in value compared to the first 8 months of 2024.

According to preliminary data from the Customs Department, in August of 2025, Vietnam imported 584,335 tonnes of fertilizer, worth of 222.28 million USD, with an average price of 380.4 USD/tonne, down by 2.2% in volume, down by 8.4% in value and down by 6.3% in price compared to July of 2025. Compared to August of 2024, it increased sharply by 30.2% in volume, up by 41.1% in value and up by 8.4% in price.
In the first 8 months of 2025, fertilizer imports reached nearly 4.34 million tonnes, worth of over 1.51 billion USD, with an average price of 348.1 USD/tonne, up by 24.1% in volume, 33.1% in turnover and 7.2% in price compared to the first 8 months of 2024. The largest amount of fertilizer imported to Vietnam comes from the Chinese market, accounting for over 45% in both volume and turnover of the country's total fertilizer imports, reaching 1.97 million tonnes, worth of 679.98 million USD, with an average price of 344.4 USD/tonne; increased by 38.3% in volume, 54.9% in turnover and 12% in price compared to the first 8 months of 2024.
The second largest market is the Russian market, accounting for 13.5% in volume and 17.7% in turnover, reaching 585,268 tonnes, worth of 266.65 million USD, average price 455.6 USD/tonne; increased by 34.7% in volume, 41.9% in turnover and 5.3% in price;
The next was the Lao market, accounting for 6.4% in volume and 5.4% in turnover, reaching 277,226 tonnes, worth of 80.66 million USD, average price 291 USD/tonne; increased by 15.2% in volume, 29.8% in turnover and 12.7% in price.
