As from the beginning of the year to August 15, 2025, the whole country exported 154,630 tonnes of pepper, with a turnover of more than 1 billion USD. Although the export volume decreased by nearly 20,000 tonnes, the turnover increased by 28.38%.
This showed that the average export value of this commodity group also increased sharply compared to the same period last year.
Since the beginning of the year, the average export value of pepper has reached about 6,830 USD/tonne, while in the same period last year it was only about 4,720 USD/tonne.
Thus, the average export value of pepper has increased by 44.7%.

It can be seen that the major export markets of the pepper industry are quite diverse with the presence of countries from America, Europe or Asia.
Wood and wood products led the way
In addition to pepper, 7 other key export groups of the agricultural sector reached a turnover of billions of USD.
Leading in turnover in the agricultural sector was wood and wood products with 10.37 billion USD, up by 8.26% over the same period last year. This is also the first group of agricultural products to reach the 10 billion USD mark.
Seafood continued to maintain its important position when reaching 6.56 billion USD, up by 13.81%. The leading export markets include China with more than 1.2 billion USD; the US reaching more than 1 billion USD; Japan reaching 920 million USD.
The increasing diversity of products and quality, along with the efforts in trade promotion of businesses and management agencies, have helped Vietnamese seafood maintain its market share.
Coffee had a very bright time with an export turnover of 6.24 billion USD, up by 62.77%. Germany was the largest market with a turnover of 870 million USD; followed by Italy with nearly 450 million USD; Spain with 443 million USD.

China was the largest export market, accounting for half of the total turnover of the vegetable and fruit industry (with 2.11 billion USD).

Diverse market
Of the 10 main export groups of the agricultural sector, there were 2 groups that have not reached the milestone of 1 billion USD or more but also have important contributions to the overall export of the sector and the whole country.
Specifically, cassava and cassava products reached 806.7 million USD, up by 3.62%. The main export market for this item is China with a turnover of 705.36 million USD.
Tea reached a turnover of 133.3 million USD, down by 8.94% over the same period last year. The main export markets are Pakistan with 45.77 million USD; (45,775,960 USD), Taiwan (China) over 14 million USD; China with 11.46 million USD...
Statistics up to mid-August 2025 showed a bright picture of Vietnam's agricultural exports.
Traditional markets such as China, the US, Japan and EU countries (especially Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain) continued to be key export partners for many products.
In addition, market diversification is also clearly demonstrated, with the presence of Vietnamese agricultural products in many countries in Asia, Africa and the Americas. In particular, the rise of pepper is a testament to the development potential of high-value agricultural products.
The above results are an important driving force for Vietnam to continue investing in improving product quality, optimizing production processes and expanding markets, towards sustainable agriculture and deeper integration into the global value chain.
