Vietnamese fruit and vegetable markets grew

 Monday, August 25,2025

AsemconnectVietnam - After a slowdown at the beginning of the year, Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports are showing clear signs of recovery, especially in the last two months.

According to data from the General Statistics Office (Ministry of Finance), in July of 2025 alone, the export turnover of fruits and vegetables reached 765 million USD, an increase of 38.6% over the same period last year. This is also the month with the second highest export value since the beginning of the year.
In the first 7 months, the export turnover of fruits and vegetables reached 3.869 billion USD. The General Statistics Office assessed that compared to the same period in 2024, the slight decrease of 0.3% is not a cause for concern, because import demand is forecast to increase sharply in the second half of the year, especially in the Chinese market - which consumes billions of USD worth of Vietnamese fruits and vegetables each year.
In addition, other major markets such as the US, Japan, Taiwan, and the Netherlands also have high demand for Vietnamese fruits and vegetables. Exports to these markets maintained stable growth, especially for deeply processed products, helping to increase value and minimize risks from market fluctuations.
Vietnamese fruit and vegetable market accelerates, opening up the door at the end of the year
The Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association said that the strong growth in Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports in June and July of 2025 was due to the recovery of exports to the Chinese market. In particular, durian grew strongly. Besides durian, exports of many other fruits and vegetables such as coconut, passion fruit and processed mango also grew impressively, showing the diversity of Vietnam's export products.
Statistics showed that in 7 months, China imported 2.114 billion USD worth of fruits and vegetables from Vietnam, down by 15% over the same period, but the decrease has narrowed significantly compared to the first quarter (down by over 30%). Meanwhile, other markets grew remarkably: the US increased by 66.3%, Japan increased by 20.6%, Taiwan increased by 13.4%, Australia increased by 32%, and the Netherlands increased by 36.6%.
With the above optimistic signals, experts expect that Vietnamese fruits and vegetables will continue to make breakthroughs, expand the "export door" and accelerate in the last months of 2025.
