AsemconnectVietnam - In the first 7 months of 2025, Vietnam's goods exports to the US reached more than 85.1 billion USD, while exports to China in the first 7 months of 2025 reached over 35 billion USD and to Japan in the first 7 months of 2025 reached nearly 15.15 billion USD.
Vietnam's goods exports to the US in the first 7 months of 2025
According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's goods export turnover to the US market in the first 7 months of 2025 reached more than 85.1 billion USD, an increase of 28.1% over the same period last year.
Currently, more than half of Vietnam's export value to the US is high-tech products (consumer electronics, smartphones), garments and footwear products, the rest are other products such as furniture and agricultural products.
In the first 7 months of 2025, the leading export turnover was computers, electronic products and components, reaching more than 22.2 billion USD, up by 68.5% over the same period last year, accounting for 39.2% of the export proportion. The next was the group of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts reaching 13.2 billion USD, up by 19.2% over the same period last year, accounting for 41.3%; and then was textiles and garments reaching 10.2 billion USD, up by 15.3% of the export proportion, accounting for 45.5%.
The items with increased export turnover in the first 7 months of 2025 compared to the previous year included toys, sports equipment and parts increased by 230.5%; electric wires and cables increased by 65.2%; glass and glass products increased by 107.6%; coffee increased by 69%.
The US is currently leading Vietnam's export markets. Meanwhile, Vietnam has become a major trading partner of the US and an important link in the supply chain of many types of goods for the US market.
Among Vietnam's export items to the US, agricultural products, aquatic products, furniture, decoration, etc. occupy a very important position. Because these are the groups of strong products of Vietnam and the US has great demand.
Vietnam's export of goods to China in the first 7 months of 2025
According to statistics from the Customs Department, the export turnover of Vietnamese goods to the Chinese market in the first 7 months of 2025 reached more than 35 billion USD, an increase of 7.5% over the same period last year.
In July of 2025 alone, the export turnover of Vietnamese goods to China reached 5.7 billion USD, an increase of 2.5% over June of 2025.
Leading the export turnover in the first 7 months of 2025 was the group of computers, electronic products and components reaching 9.5 billion USD, up 39% over the same period last year, accounting for 27.2% of the export proportion; followed by the group of phones of all kinds and components reaching 6.55 billion USD, down 11.3%, accounting for 18.7% of the proportion; followed by the group of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts reaching 2.86 billion USD, up 53.9% over the same period last year, accounting for 8.1% of the export proportion.
The groups of goods with export turnover growth in the first 7 months of 2025 compared to the same period last year were seafood increased by 43.8%; rice increased by 92.1%; cashew nuts increased by 46.8%; iron and steel exports increased by 174.1%.
China is identified as a key export market for Vietnam's agricultural, forestry and fishery products. In addition to strong products such as vegetables, fruits and seafood, businesses are focusing on increasing market share of products with great potential such as rubber, pepper, cassava, etc.
Vietnam's exports to Japan in the first 7 months of 2025
According to data from the Customs Department, Vietnam's export turnover to Japan in the first 7 months of 2025 reached nearly 15.15 billion USD, an increase of 10.4% compared to the first 7 months of 2024.
In July of 2025 alone, the country’s exports to Japan reached 2.34 billion USD, an increase of 4.4% compared to June 2025 and an increase of 1.18% compared to July of 2024.
The textile and garment group always leads in export turnover to Japan, reaching 2.53 billion USD, accounting for 16.7% of the total export turnover of all kinds of goods to Japan, up by 10.1% compared to the first 7 months of 2024. The group of means of transport and spare parts ranked second in turnover, up by 11.6% compared to the first 7 months of 2024, reaching 1.87 billion USD, accounting for 12.3%. The next was the group of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts ranked third, with an increase of 0.9%, reaching 1.53 billion USD, accounting for 10.1%; the group of wood and wood products reached 1.2 billion USD, accounting for 7.9%, up by 24.6%.
