Daily: Domestic rice prices remained unchanged on August 15, 2025

AsemconnectVietnam - According to Kinhtedothi, domestic rice prices remained unchanged on August 15. Trading activity is slow, with prices holding steady.

In the Mekong Delta, rice prices showed little fluctuation. Market volume is low, with both domestic rice and fresh paddy prices stable, while export rice prices also remained unchanged from yesterday.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, current paddy prices are: IR 50404 (fresh) VND5,700–5,900/kg; Nang Hoa 9 VND6,000–6,200/kg; Dai Thom 8 (fresh) VND6,100–6,200/kg; OM 18 (fresh) VND6,000–6,200/kg; OM 5451 (fresh) VND5,900–6,000/kg; OM 308 (fresh) VND5,700–5,900/kg, unchanged from yesterday.
In many localities today, late-season paddy supply is low, and prices remain steady. In Tay Ninh (former Long An), the summer-autumn crop is nearly finished, supply is limited, and trade is slowing, with prices stable. In Can Tho, trade in the autumn-winter crop remains slow, with most buyers waiting and prices relatively stable.
In Dong Thap (former Tien Giang), farmers are holding firm on prices, with low transaction volumes; traders reported a slight drop in fragrant rice prices. In An Giang, late-season paddy is scarce, purchases are slow, and prices are steady. In Ca Mau (former Bac Lieu), new purchases remain slow, traders select fields carefully, and prices are stable. In Dong Thap, supply is low, many traders have stopped buying, and prices are stable.
For rice, according to An Giang’s Department of Agriculture and Environment, export-grade IR 504 raw rice is VND8,450–8,550/kg; CL 555 raw rice VND8,650–8,750/kg; OM 380 export raw rice VND8,300–8,400/kg; raw 5451 rice VND9,500–9,650/kg; OM 18 raw rice VND9,600–9,700/kg; OM 380 finished rice VND8,800–9,000/kg; IR 504 finished rice VND9,500–9,700/kg.
By-products are priced between VND7,500 and VND9,000/kg. OM 504 fragrant broken rice is VND7,500–7,700/kg; bran is VND8,000–9,000/kg, unchanged from the weekend.
In An Giang, large warehouses are buying steadily, with rice prices stable. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), supply is low, trading is slow, and rice prices are steady. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), rice is arriving gradually at the docks, with prices stable.
In Sa Dec market channel (Dong Thap), volumes are small, demand is moderate, and prices are steady. In An Cu – New Dong Thap (Cai Be, former Tien Giang), supply is low but trading is picking up, with stable prices.
At retail markets, rice prices remain unchanged from yesterday. Nang Nhen rice is the most expensive at VND28,000/kg; Huong Lai VND22,000/kg; common rice VND13,000–14,000/kg; long-grain Thai fragrant rice VND20,000–22,000/kg; Nang Hoa rice VND21,000/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice VND20,000/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice VND16,000–18,000/kg; standard white rice VND16,000/kg; Soc common rice VND16,000–17,000/kg; Soc Thai rice VND20,000/kg; Japanese rice VND22,000/kg.
On the export market, Vietnam’s rice export prices were flat compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), 5% broken rice is at USD395/tonne; 25% broken rice at USD371/tonne; and 100% broken rice at USD339/tonne.
